[MOD-oops] mines project on hold (no need to release anymore)

...Didn't want the code to go to waste

Enhanced Planet Defenses!

*******************

I no longer have to feel guilty about not having released the code because you can play entrenchment now...

The Proximity Activation codiing for my mines was completed on August 6th

With the finalized version of 1.1 out now, I decided to dust off my coding for mines, and write extra code for self-deploying minefield generators.  Currently my generators create a 3D cloud of mines, and am optimizing them to take less processing power from generating thousands of mines (trimming the buffs to only what's necessary)...

To save time, I'm making a separate mod for my mines, for faster release... (since it's the feature (of all my experiments) that people consistantly PM me about revealing the secrets to):)

I just downloaded the Impulse setup, but I have to wait until I'm on my dad's computer (it's the only one with BOTH superuser access and internet, as my computer is not connected at all)...

EVERYTHING IS FINISHED NOW, JUST NEED TO PORT IT TO 1.1

ONLY THING IN THE WAY NOW IS MY COMPUTER'S INCOMPATIBILITY WITH IMPULSE

The mine-field generators are finished, and spout out mines in a random globular pattern around the generator (which starts out as a plate, facing the planet, and fills out within a couple minutes)...

Also, for the fun of it, I'll be tossing in my volcanic remnants to make my mod more "dangerous"...

*waves goodbye!

Fine in order to keep this clear, scratch my invitation to work together. We'll keep this separate that way they'll be NO POSSIBLE links between our two mods and no accusations of "You stole this from me,etc..."!

BTW I modified my previous response to FleetAlex...which I think is a good show of sportsmanship! Next time please..try and show the same instead of bringing people down who are really just trying to learn and be as good as the pros out there!

In fairness I had already apologized for the accusations, I affirm your legitimacy as a modder!

It interesting though to see similar patterns in trust exercised in real life as within games such as SINS, where empires competing for resources interact in all the range of ways in order to fulfill their needs...  ...also, figuring out those needs, as well as the motivations of others when taking in account things like limited resources, is a lot more complex than SINS makes it look...

I can't believe I insisted on dictionary definitions over the possibilities of the universe (that was my art thesis)...  Now that my eyes are open, as well as the pandora's box that comes with it...

Having spent the fall season away from SINS in anticipation for 1.1 (1.11, I'm installed now :) , those days were used in a programming language that has excellent mesh display capabilities built-in...

Recently, I coded a 3D environment that lets me fly around in a continuous galactic cluster, with 250 stars with up to 10 planets each, at 60 FPS on my badly outdated system...

Anyway, it's taking my coding efforts away from porting my SINS code for release, (and I thought it was fair to let you know), as the allure of SINS for me was the unprescedented accessability to a 3D environment, and having that kind of access to 3D within a programming language is irresistible...

I didn't want to worry those waiting for mines, so I waited until the hard-core mine people got access to Entrenchment before this announcement...

(when 1.1 was released, I decided my code shouldn't go to waste, and I thought it would be a good idea to at least finish the mod for the sake of merging... ...but since the developers are done now, I don't have to feel bad about not releasing because their code is surely much better than mine) :)
