up yours wincustomize

this is not a post intended for general discussion, but rather, specifically for the idiots who run wincustomize to read. i am assuming they will remove it because it does not meet their "guidelines" but i dont give a toss. at least some will read this before they do.

i made my first ever skin, something for logon studio vista, using a picture of our cute and funny hamster. he is a super little guy who has given us hours of fun with his antics and love of anything edible. anyway this was accepted ok

then i made another showing him sitting like the sphinx tucking into a piece of pizze with an expression of heaven on his face...........guess what? REJECTED! why? DIDNT MEET THEIR GUIDELINES

so i read the guidelines and i found nothing in them i had breached by submitting that photograph. i was fuming! so because of some brainless moron at wincustomize, you the paying community who keeps them in a job, cannot share a really funny and cute logon.

well, wincustomize, or should i say MARY WHITEHOUSE? i will not be submitting anymore material to this site, and i will not be renewing my subscription and i will not be buying any more premium products off you. furthermore, i am going to download.com and i am going to post the shittiest review of your company i can dream up.

oh feel free to contact me wincustomize, but your emails will only be opened if they meet my guidelines ok?

up yours losers

Sometimes logons are rejected for simple reasons. Like you forgot to include a preview picture (or it was to small). It is possible something ike that happened......

just an afterthought. i have the rejected logon as my logon at the moment. its not advertising anything, its not pornographic, nor it is breaching anyone's copyright. SO GET USED TO IT WINCUSTOMIZE.

anyone who wants it please mail me at [email protected] and i will send it them via email

believe me, if you saw it you would be wondering what the hell wincustomize were thinking when they banned it too

no 2of3...........same size picture as the first......and it works great on my machine....a lovely crystal clear picture

On occasion different moderators will have different views of what is or is not acceptable/suitable for a specific gallery.

Generally any such rejection will have a specific reason added to the generic 'rejection' email.

If you feel a submission was unfairly handled either contact myself and/or Island Dog for assistance/review/comment....either via Personal Message or by email...;)

I've checked the logon.

It suffers on two different levels.

As a photo it's out of focus.

And as a logon/skin/wall for public use it's actually more particularly appealing/relevant to the pet's owner than anyone else.

out of focus jafo? bullshitto! it looks fine on my pc and the wife's

anyway, so its a pet? so what? it is also an animal and therefore a nature photo. and who are you to judge what people want or would like on here? sorry mate, i think they are wrong to ban it and they are being childish

jafo, so its only appealing to us because its our pet? so i assume you will now remove the following:

1/ flower themes (they are only appealing to gardeners)

2/ space themes (they are only appealing to astronomers)

3/ car themes (they are only appealing to car owners)

4/ basketball themes (they are only appealing to americans)

5/ halloween themes (its an american custom only)

i will not hold my breath

The submissions are open to the interpretation of the moderators and Stardock staff. While you are upset about the decisions that have been made here it is much better to discuss them with the moderators rather than in the open forums. In private the picture can be discussed and modified to fit the guidelines of acceptance for the Wincustomize community. We are not heartless nor are we going to single people out.

Bringing an issue to bear in this way while insulting both Wincustomize and Stardock will do nothing positive, nor will it give you the desired out come. No one save the owners of this website have the right to post their work here. That said if you are still interested in putting up your work please take the discussion to private message conversations with any of the moderators and they can assist you can clarify the situation for you.

The flame war and the name calling is starting to get out of hand. I am locking this post as there is simply no need for this nor will anything be gained by it. Please do not attempt to continue this in another thread.

Childish would be throwing a tantrum over something like this. It's your 2nd skin....jeez, I was turned down for my first several skins. I, along with some really good artists, have several skins that never made the galleries. Not everything passes. Just make a new one, and keep on keeping on.    Just my 2 cents.

Rejection is a possible outcome for any submission. You are (understandably) emotionally vested in this submission and you'll agree (I hope) not objective about it and I'm not saying you should be.

The reviewer (I assume) probably tries to view it with objective criteria (focus, color, topic etc.) and subjective ones. They're only human, after all.

A separate issue in this thread is anger and consideration. You demonstrate alot of anger towards people trying to do their job and be considerate at the same time. They don't deserve this kind of anger, even if they are "mistaken". You can protest a rejection in a private and civil way (there goes that word again).

I paln to start photographing in the future and might submit. I understand that these pics might be rejected and that won't make me feel good, but I plan to learn from rejection as well as success. I don't intend "to flame" the folks looking at the work.

You can always post your submission to your gallery by yourself (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Anyway, hope you don't give up and hope you learn to deal with rejection in a more constructive manner. I would have sent this to your email but I think the people you named deserve a fair shake.
