Gal Civ II Twilight Crash

I have an issue with Galactic Civilizations II (I have all expansions, recently purchased). Anytime I play and the Dread Lords appear, the next turn the game crashes. I have the latest version, and I have all updated drivers and DirectX versions. So I am at a loss as to what causes this. I hope it gets fixed in Version 2.0, but I was curious as to how common this issue was.

I am running:

Intel Xeon E3110 (3.0GHZ Dual Core, 6mb cache, 1333mhz fsb)

nVidia 9800 GTX (512MB GDDR3)

Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 x64

4GB DDR2 RAM

The only thing I could think of was possibly a 64-bit issue. Thoughts?
