What Did You Play This Weekend?

Well it's Monday, and it's that time to tell everyone what you played this weekend.  I was actually caught up in Star Wars: Force Unleashed this weekend.  It's a good game, but it did have so much more potential.  The force effects are just awesome, and any Star Wars fan will enjoy it.

My kids are really loving Spore, so I hop on with them a bit and give them a hand.  I think they do a better job than I do with it.

So what did you play this weekend?

A couple of of different GC2 games. Continued an ongoing immense TA game, and got a small DA game going for the Metverse league.

A little bit deeper into Arx Fatalis(this one will be going awhile). And another oldie that seems a fun mindless romp, Stubbs the Zombie(couldn't pass up the $5 price ;) )

I played TPM 2008 Express.

And then I bought TPM 2008, and I've been playing the shit out of it.

Beat The Force Unleashed this weekend.

Spent the rest of it reinstalling the OS on my main PC.  I'm now fully 64-bit baby!

Took Crysis for a spin on Vista64 to see if 64 bit helped, and to finally check out the DX10 goodies.  Nicer lighting, shadows and atmospheric effects, but not a huge improvement over DX9, and it brought a considerable performance hit.  The last fight is actually unplayable where the rest of the game was fairly smooth.

This week? Colonization probably.  Maybe some Wrath of the Lich King beta if I'm feeling adventurous.

i wish i could play "Colonization" (old version) but it doesn't run on Vista :-(   I'm sure there's a workaround, but I'm not tech literate enough to know how

otherwise, more GCII, trying to get my MVL game done (darn you Dystopic on these settings!)

I've been absolutly addicted to Medieval II: Total War, so I played that all weekend. I've been trying to get back into Sins (no campaign, less fun), and Galciv II (need tactical combat)

Downloaded Fall Further 042  for Fall from Heaven II {all free} for civ 4 BTS Saturday night after playing "fix all the problems with the roof that leaks " all afternoon. Spent the better part of sunday playing it. The game not the roof , got to wait for rain to play the next round of that.

I'm currently running it using DosBox inside Vista 32 and it works like a charm. You should be able too, but with the new version out now... :)

Played some TA; enjoying that a lot. First time on an immense map and I'm still hanging in there!!! Managed to survive a Dread Lord event and just got rid of The Jagged Knife threat.

Blasted around for a while on AirRivals leveling up..........still a way to go before I can actually beat anybody!! I am officially rubbish.. stats currently stand at duals 17, Wins 0, Losses 17........You see that burning fireball hurtling towards the ground...yes, that's me!!

I've been sticking with the classics this past week:

Currently playing Birth of the Federation with the excellent Balance of Power mod installed.  Am also playing a Shimazu campaign in Shogun Total War (and holy crap, I forgot how tough their starting position can be!).

Finally, I've started playing GalCiv 2 again (vanilla version) the last few days.  Currently have an Iconian campaign going in a Huge map, Normal difficulty, 9 opponents.  I've been fortunate to have the Torians, Altrarians, and Arceans as neighbors, as they all seem to be kindly disposed towards me (despite my complete lack of a military at the moment).  The Thalans are less happy about sharing a border with me, but I'm hoping I can still get them to warm up a bit.

Civ IV (BTS) and SOASE. Maybe the  2.0 beta release will get me back into GalCiv II.

Playing Spore for the past two weekends. :) I'm enjoying the design aspect of it. I like the cell to tribe stages, but don't really like the civ stage so much.

Another thing: Got the patch notice but guess what, the patch just won't work. Dropped by the spore forum and found out that a patch is required to make the patch work. <_< Typical ea silliness. I didn't get to install the patch in the end and have decided to hang back and wait.
