How do I create animated icons?

Is there a certain software you recommend to create animated icons? Something that a poor dumb country boy like me can use?

Thanks!

In most cases you need a bit strip creator for the animation. The one I have been using for a long time is ImageKlebor.

Here is one site with more information on it: http://imageklebor.software.informer.com/

As Bichur mentioned though it depends on what icons you are trying to make.

You would want to make a animation strip no more than 25 frames long, even then it could glitch on you some. From there you will need an animation docklet. There are several in the Objeect Dock gallery.

to create a .png strip you can also use Stardock's own AniUtil http://www.cursorxp.com/files/AniUtil.zip

http://www.cursorxp.com/files/aniutil.zip takes me to https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorfx/

I searched for aniutil and got nothing. Where else can I look for this?

that link used to let you download AniUtil from the cursorxp page

if you have DesktopX, look in that folder

one came with my DesktopX and resides in: C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX

what it did was take separate .png frames and combine them into one strip

try this
