Beta teams

plans are for 5vs5.

But there won't be online multiplayer in phase1. There is supposed to be LAN though and hamachi should hopefully work.

Impulse multiplayer is planned for phase2.

thank you for the quick response. Are there any details about how they would want to hold tournaments or examples of how past games from these companies have been? Sorry for not knowing to much about these companies. I have not tried their games before.

Tournaments and rankings will be a part of Impulse like it was with gpgnet.

GPG made supcom.. if I'm not mistaken Supcom had tournaments where you could win money.

Impulse is new and unfinished. But it will be worked on more during the beta to add in the ranking support, support for structured tournaments, etc.. that's all planned. Basically to make it like gpgnet but hopefully less bleh.

If this game becomes a total hit, there will be private organisations which sponsor leagues/tournaments.
But even if the game is planned for 5v5, i believe you simply can close slots as a host to play 1v1/2v2/3v3/4v4.

I meant planend for 5vs5 as the maximum.

so the beta will be playable single player?

vs. AI yes.

Reading all of innociv's very informative & mature replies, on this thread, I must admit that I'm shocked : he has become such a nice guy ...

I always always nice. 

But really.. on the Sins forum the problem was that when I'd try to help newbies and explain things to them, the game mechanics, so on, some thanked me but most would tell me to shut up and call me a noob or an elitest.  I really just don't like that.. sorry.  And yes I am arrogant sometimes, I'll admit, but I try to be more helpful and consiterate than I am occasionally arrogant and i always have..

Just you wait till beta starts, innociv the demon will come out . Joking aside, I know where innociv comes from with regards to the Sins forum...Generally his posts are informative with good suggestions, even if I might disagree on a point here there...And being bashed as an "elitist" simply for knowing game mechanics and effective strategies (when you are trying to share them!) is frustrating.

Yeah exactly.. People where just saying I was elitest all the time.

 

I would play tons of games.  I played 200-300 between my accounts.  I would help people in the games all the time if I noticed them using a dumb strategy.  I'd be nice and just explain things to them and gives me tips and 1/3rd of the time the person would blow up all me and call me a noob and stuff.

The "anti-knowledgable people" mindset in the sins community is why I became more and more of a dick until I left.

In the begining I wasn't with sins and hopefully i'll stay that way here.

There will be multiplayer, just LAN and they will allow Hamachi software.

 

So there is multiplayer.
