I want day/night cycles and different effects day/night.

Daytime you have one set of objects, night another.
At night some demigods maybe have some buffs and debuffs to them.

I'd rather just the night and day thin add a visual aspect to the game, perhaps adding advantages and disadvantages based on visibility but not stuff like "The Werewolf is strengthened by the moonlight, granting him 50% more awesome" maybe this werewolf example just sees better in the dark than others, but that's it. Other than stuff like that, a night time map could have a lot of fun visual effects and strategies. I could just imagine half the map being set alight by the torchbearer, casting an orange glow around the entire map. It would be REALLY interesting if seeing a bright light at night affected your visibility the way it would in real life, IE: Rook's tower of light attack thing causing serious blinding and disorientation to the minotaurs below.

no it shouldn't be 50% more awesome.
It should be 50% more awesome and 50% less wowzors.

I said they should get a buff and debuff, not become better.
I wasn't suggesting a demigod become better at the night or day, but DIFFERENT.

Like you could have a class that is healer during the day, damage dealer during the night.

No Dota didn't have the function WC3 had the function! Dota is a mod, If your going to reference something reference the original game the mod was made from. Fuck I feel like I'm being drowned in fanboyism!

well i dont think wc3 has the function to the degree of which dota does. the night elfs had the invis thing at night but dota has night stalker who has skills that either function strictly at night or are improved during the night time.
anyways
the idea is not a bad one whether they do it only to the degree of range of sight or to the same degree as dota with a hero based upon the day/night change.

I can imagine a day time map, massive battle going on, a normal Demigod game. Then night falls and torches light all around the arena. It just seems to fit with the feel of the game i think.
But thats just me :P

you can NOT deny just how great dota became from 3 generations of amateur modding. It was gonna happen eventually that someone made a standalone game that was very similiar to dota, why not compare the heritage?

No where in my post did I compare Dota to Demigod. I asked that if he were going to reference day/night cycles and their tied in bonuses that he reference the original medium and not the mod. Read my shit before posting your own.

Oh, you see, I read it as if you had said Buffs OR debuffs.
