[bug] Dead asteroids don't connect trade lane

If you have an dead asteroid between two planets with trade ports the dead asteroid isn't part of the longest trade route feature.

If my recollection is correct, Dead Asteroids have always broken a trade route.

Tip: Research the TEC teir 6 Civil tech "Developement Mandate" to gain 4 logistic slots (on ea planet you own), and then you can put trade ports on a dead asteroid.

That's odd I specifically remember them having been part of trade lanes in 1.03.

It should be fixed regardless as only the TEC can research more logistic slots as you pointed out.

uninhabitable planets don't break trade lanes, if they are doing so in the beta then its a bug. I will watch more closely this next game that I get an uninhabitable and see if the trade lanes are indeed being broken.

I just recently finished a game where i had trade ports on every habitable planet, but in every instance the dead asteroids broke the trade lanes. I was the Advent.

Well, in this game i had zero dead asteroids and the trade lanes are broken anyway (they don't expand) ?
Or is there some secret mechanic behind the whole thing i didn't understand ?

Here is a screenshot, note i have build a Trade Port just everywhere.

Hey guys, you answered your own question. Uncolonizable planets do not break trade lanes (reply #3). Guess what, you can colonize dead roids.

This is not a bug.

But they can't have any logistics structures so they should NOT break an trade lane.

And why stops my trade lane on both ends ?
I have much more planets with trade ports, it should expand atleast on one end.

I don't know how it was previously, but like How said I think it's not a bug since dead astroids are colonizable.

However I would like to label this a "feature request" since without this a dead astroid ruins an otherwise perfectly good "longest trade route". If the game logic is that uninhabitables don't stop trade routes, why should dead astroids destroy them?

This is not a bug. Dead asteroids have always broken trade lanes. But there's no reason to fix this since only the TEC, the trade kings, should be able to overcome this. It gives them an economic/trade advantage over the other races which they need to compete with the other races.

Vasari can also overcome this with gates.

Himmelweiss, to answer your question, yes, the trade route will seek only the longest direct route. Sometimes it pays to not build a trade port, to force it "the long way around". Here's another (better) explanation, with an illustrated example.

Now that did help, thanks. I just tested it and could come up with a much better, longer trade lane and income increased drastically.

OH hey I learned something I never knew. I just spammed trade ports regardless, never thought that by engineering a longer patch I could make more money and save logistics slots...now to experiment!!
