It's very interesting how many of the comments made are so biased that if bias can me turned to energy we would have power for the next millennium.

Hows about we have opinions based on the candidates and not their political affiliation. Sure that is also important, Republicans wanna vote for Republicans and Democrats for Democrats. But to put down the other candidate simply because e is of the opposing party is kinda like never giving a chance period due to being bias.

I don't wish to go further because my intent is not to smear McCain but only show others that he is no perfect angel. So u can question how Obama pays for his house and i can tell you the same way McCain paid for all of his many...mainly through proceeds from book sales.
Or you can question how Obama got into the exclusive Punahou school and i can tell u because his grandfather worked for one of the administrators there. Not much difference from McCain going to Annapolis. Im sure the fact that his father was an Alumni and Admiral helped that along but it really does not matter.

Its all about policies and if u dont take the time to figure out how much of the smear disseminated by the power players in both parties is meant to make voters vote for a party that doesn't even benefit them then you have fallen into their trap.

In the case of politics, wikipedia is not a trustworthy information source.  Often pages are edited with strong bias.  Wikipedia in general has shown a very strong pro-liberal, anti-corporate slant in how articles are edited.  Read the G W Bush article specifically to see an example.  The voice of the text is very obviously slanted.

And KFC you still haven't actually posted anything Obama himself has said that would be damning.  He attended Marxist conferences?  Read the literature?  Has friends who are communist, muslim etc?  I went to a Campus Republicans meeting or two in college, I even attended a baptist youth group in high school.  I am neither a republican nor a baptist.  I have friends who believe in Islam, Judaism, who are athiests and agnostics.  I have friends and family who are nearly militant liberals, and who are just as equally extreme to the conservative side. 

Guess what?  None of those people are me.  Their views are not my views.  My association with them does not imply anything.  It says NOTHING about who I am other than I have a diverse group of friends and a family that gets into some heated discussions at reunions.

Personally, if given the choice between someone who ONLY associates with Christians (or Muslims, or Jews, or whites or blacks or whatever) and someone who seems to get along ok with just about everyone... I want the guy with the greater diversity of friends. 

But again, I'm not saying Obama is necessarily a good candidate.  I'm just as interested in learning about him, what his positions are, what his policies would be as you are.  But you're still approaching this with a closed mind.  You've already made up your mind if any of your comments or posts are any indication.  Now you're just looking for supporting evidence to justify your prejudgement.

Indeed Wikipedia is not a definitive source but for me at least a good starting point. It has direct links and more importantly footnotes that link to other sources to backup some of the information it lays out. Its difficult to find good political sources but at east Wikipedia is not a political blog that only links to other political blogs. It's footnotes link to major news outlets including the major media networks PBS VOA BBC,etc. and various govt websites.

Then McCain really is our best bet, with his leaving his faithful wife (who waited for him while he was in a prison camp in Vietnam) because she'd been in a car wreck and he couldn't stand the sight of her anymore to be with a 20-year-old heiress to a fortune.

Tell me that's character, and I'll respectfully disagree most vehemently.

McCain did sign a prenup with the heiress so i don't know that its about the family fortune. Probably had more do do with lust, maybe political connections, or maybe just a lust for suds. I guess id have to reexamine the timeline to form a realistic opinion....lol

 

Yes,  this goes as a part of McCain's character and something I certainly take into consideration when casting my vote...that is after considering his stance on abortion and  same-sex "marriage".  For me, with McCain, alot depends on who is running mate is...if he or she is pro-abortion or pro same sex "marriage", then I'll not vote for him.

Keep in mind though,  all I've said so far is that I can't vote for Obama. That much I'm sure of unless he really and truly has the greatest turnaround that ever was!

Unfortunately the republican party doesn't really care about repealing Roe V Wade. They only care to get the votes from the people who will vote for them based on that specific issue. Same as with gay marriage. They don't care about the religious, cultural, or personal views on the issue . They side the issue so the busineeses that they truly represent will not have to pay more for such things as health care, etc. And so that it doesn't cost more for specific government entitlement program benefits.

In my Catholic opinion, sadly yes, they did. Fr. Pfleger used racism to deride Sen. Clinton. Those members present in the Trinity Church seemed to love his every word.

Shortly afterwards Cardinal Francis George suspended Fr. Pfleger telling him to take some time off for 'reflection' and forbid him to ever speak in such a way again. Cardinal George said,

"Racial issues are both political and moral and are also highly charged. Words can be differently interpreted, but Fr. Pfleger's remarks about Senator Clinton are both partisan and amount to a personal attack. I regret that deeply."

I agree that Fr Pfleger's sermon was totally inappropriate and very devisive but i don't think that he was preaching "white hatred". Racism and racial remarks come in many forms not all of which infer hatred.

To complement what smoothseas did, i'll give it a shot. Keep in mind 90% of hate-filled literature is the WAY they say things, not what they say.

What is a "muslim" school? A school that teaches islam to its student? If so, then the school he went to was not muslim. Watch interviews with who was I think the principle, and the CNN stories that accompanied it (surprisingly they looked into these claims of a muslim education). It was only muslim in the sense that a fair deal of the kids would have been muslim, because it was indonesia after all. Lastly, who gives a damn?

Civil rights is not productive? I thought the republicans loved 'freedom' more than anybody else? This email has stepped over the line of bigotry and proceeded to urinate on it. You'd be surprised how many presidents haven't run a corner hot dog stand. But I am sure he has held conventional jobs, even with this guys rigid and racist definition of conventional. He has had a solid career in the state legislature and the national senate, he has proved himself capable. Gene I may come across as a starry-eyed Obama supporter, but i'm not really, i'm not even American. I do like him quite a bit, and would much prefer him over Mccain, but the reason I sound so worked up is the stupid thing he's being attacked for.
