I just updated Twilight or Arnor to the latest version and tried to play a game and holy cow, what the heck are you people doing?  The game is continually being made crappier with each new update.

I get the latest update and all of a sudden the Terran Alliance leader is some she-male called "Jenna".  Ok whatever, I don't have to look at it when playing.

The research times are completely ridiculous.  It shouldn't take 30 minutes to research lasers or 10 turns to research armor theory.  WTF?!

All the planets now have 60% approval throughout the entire game.

The AI players are constantly sending me stupid messages like "OH WE ARE GOING TO SHARE THIS TECH WITH YOU.  PSYCH!".  WTF?  Why is the computer constantly saying this over and over again?  What value does this add to the game?  They also are chatting me up with stupid things that I don't care about like "OH WE JUST STARTED RESEARCHING FARMS" Wow! Thanks for sharing! WTF?!

Terran alliance economy is lousy throughout the entire game.  Have nothing but market centers on half my planets and my income is going negative after building a couple Star Fury's.

Meanwhile the computer players colonize a million planets and spend money like drunken sailors and constantly annoy me with demands to pay them to keep the peace.  WTF?

There is always one AI player that can colonize any planet even the class 0's and spreads like AIDS across the map while I am sitting around with my 4 planets. WTF?

It's completely obvious that the AI plays  by different rules and gets major economy bonuses.

The deck is getting more and more stacked with every release and it's become so ridiculous with this last release that the game just plain sucks now.

I used to enjoy this game but enough is enough.

You have no idea how annoying it was to have the AI engaging in what appeared to be blatant cheating and amounted to a huge waste of time. I was getting extremely P.O'd and to have others respond with the usual internet superiority complex and start lecturing GCTOA101 doubled the annoyance.

Oh and then for some people to say it was my fault because I wasn't aware of this tribal knowledge regarding "DONT UPDATE BETAS" like I am supposed to look into a crystal ball before every release and not trust the game's automatic update feature that has worked without problem for months prior. NO, UOFADAVE, READ THE MANUAL OVER AND OVER AGAIN BEFORE EVERY RELEASE UOFADAVE GOD HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE UOFADAVE I ALWAYS READ THE MANUAL UOFADAVE WHY DONT YOU. LOOK AT THIS GUY HE DIDNT READ HIS MANUAL HO HO HO HA HA HA.

I'm sorry, but you might want to think a bit before accusing people of being sheep and "playing their troll card". Scroll right up the top of this page, re-read your message, and sit hard and think. What you did was insult Stardock, and in the end, the problem wasn't their fault; it was yours. Yes, it is your fault, because as a beta tester, it was your responsibility to keep a tab on these forums, and read the threads which pertain to the beta (which clearly stated it needed to be removed before installing the release version 1.9).

I for one saw this thread for days, but refused to offer help because of your tone. Congratulations to the others who attempted to help. "Good night, you Princes of Maine, you Kings of New England!"

You can't possibly imagine that the entire tone of your posts may have had something to with it? Or the fact that you insisted that you're doing everything right and the game was bugged? Or that you personally insulted everyone who dared to suggest it might have been your fault?

In the OP's defense...

He is correct on one point.

Yes, there is a significant research slowdown in TA that has nothing to do with your research rate or the game settings. It's bug that several other players have experienced, and the issue has been discussed in another current thread.

By the way -

I played another game without incident. I even put Neutrality Learning Centers and a tech capital on Mars and STILL MANAGED to get #1 in the game - much to the chagrin of some of the Charlatans on this thread who obliged themselves to go ahead and speak out and critique every step of my game that was apparantly bugged from the update.
