FFA


i've played for some time now many ffa games

here my comment :

#1 : LOCKED TEAM OPTION

if team option is unlocked, aka diplo, THIS IS NOT FFA !!!

ffa is about 1 winner, not a collective win...
otherwise, play 3vs3 or 4vs4


of course, i would enjoy also some diplo options. but the game should really just allow 1 winner in the end. Which would oblige people to break their alliances and make some more fun



#2 : MAP

FFA maps should have home-base much more closer, even if it is a 50planet size.

right now, i spend my first hour playing "simcity in space"
-no early fight at all, no interest to dev weapon tree too soon
and sometime, it is much more than a hour, (and until 1.04, play all this time without a simgle fight : host DC, of get myself a Minidump...)

rush option is quite a suicide as even if you kill your peacefull neighbour, you will face then other peoples with stronger empire/economy

#1: Not everyone wants to play that way
#2: Play on a smaller map. Boom is suicide if you play on even a locked FFA large map with 8 players.

i agree only on one thing
if you play with locked teams you still should get some diplomatic options(ceasefire and trade)

it is not about smaller map, is it about closer home Planets ^^

-which should you oblige to balance between expansion and guerilla with your neighbour
-which should you oblige to smartly tec in order to counter ennemy fleet
-which should you oblige to play with fleet size (and upkeep)

it oblige to scout a lot around.
you may fall from early rusher if you go too strong on expand/economic

it is real intersting FFA
