Still looking for the ponies...

if your really desperate to find it you can always go into your system folder and modify the system string to give you a 70% chance of finding it. Otherwise you will just have to keep searching. Thats how i found it.

Weird. I always thought this was from the Ewok Adventures movie, where the little girl is explaining what a star cruiser is to the little Ewok. She zips her hands around and says zoom! So the Ewok picks up a wooden pony and goes ZOOM ZOOM, STAHCROOSAH!

Hence. Space ponies.

A few hundred games in, and I've found them!

i created my own nine star galaxy with 8 players, the ninth star i colonized an ice planet called Meduna then reaserced exploration and immediately found it

Just do what i did, and go into the game files, and make it so you have completed all the achievements. Its a lot easier than actually finding the space ponies, and its what a true pink space pony would do. :CONGRAT:

It seems to be connected with taking a certain number of pirate bases.

Found it in a custom map lan game... My friend still hates me to this day.

No Pirate bases taken, 4th - 5th planet colonized.

Why even have the achievements in the game if you just edit the file to say you got them all? Is it really that important your list is checked off, rather than have those that you actually managed to get on your own?

When I got the Space Ponies I had no clue what had happened for me to get them... I never would have equated it to exploring a planet, I was just watching a fleet prepare to jump when I got it. /shrug

Space ponies turned out to be pretty lame. I found it in my first big game, and I didn't even realize I found it until I checked my achievements tab. It doesn't even do anything once you discover it on one of your planets. It should at least give you a weapons upgrade or something. Maybe a tax income boost.

A good way to half-legitimately do it is by making a custom map with a crapload of colonizables and upping bonus density to 100%.

When the game was new, and all the was dark, the Space Ponies came on their magical capital ships, and brought light and life to the universe.

I thought they taught this in Officer Training. How did you all come to lead armies across the galaxy?

No idea - but I've got a cool pink hat that says I can lead many, many armies

Now Kosc, you that know no matter how busy I am making new toys for you guys, when I hear the words "Space Ponies" I can't help but join in...

My guess is that some of you wont like me to confirm this but...  I too achieved ponies on my first game.  and it was in the easy game...trainging i think.. anyway i had just one easy opponent.   Unfortunately I don't know what it is nor did I see anything like a space pony if such a thing exists.  I just noticed it in achievements list.

So he says to me, 'You wanna be a baaaaad guy?' And I say yeah, baby! I wanna be bad! I SAYS, SURF'S UP, SPACE PONIES! I'M MAKING GRAVY WITHOUT THE LUMPS! Aaaaaa-hahahahaha!

I found them in the very 1st round i played online

I AGREE WITH U SheepishOne I OWN THOSE MOVIES AND ITS THE ONLY THING IV'E EVER SEEN WITH A (FLYING PONIE) SO WHATS THE DAM THING FOR IV'E GOT EVERYTHING ELSE  AND BEEN PLAYING THE GAME SINCE IT CAME OUT AND STILL SAYS ITS NOT DONE

I was wondering what the achivement was too. I was playing with a friend over my dorm LAN and I got the planet that had the space ponies. I can't see anything different about the planet or anything. It is just luck that I found it. I have played a total of maybe 7 maps since i reinstalled it, so, keep looking if you want it.

Seen the fabled space ponies 4 times, twice with achievements on, twice before that... and my achievements are still blanking, heh

I installed the beta the otehr day , on my second game i got the achievement . No idea what it was about or what got me it . I was to busy killing things to take much notice at the time.

I think that the space ponies should give you a planetary bonus to the economy or something. you like you could make a zoo or something. the first solar Zoo with the first known space ponie. big solar highway sign saying come to Birnidun and see the famous SPACE PONIES! its gotta give you something!
