Minidumps intentionally triggered by opponents?

I saw someone mention that other people can trigger your game to minidump. My game has minidumped twice recently when I did something to "break my opponent's back".

Is it just bad luck or funny business?

I just got minidumped as I was colonizing one of my opponent's ice planet in a 2v2.

I seem to get minidumped every single multiplayer game now about 5-7 minutes in. Weird.

Not sure what mini-dumped is but games definitely end when my opponents fleet is getting pummeled. I'm not sure what happens on the backend of the software but it's clear that one player is leaving without exciting properly and the game doesn't know what to do.
