Advent are way too good for TEC in my experience.  That colonizer ship is insane it pays for itself if you colonize 3 or 4 planets with it.

Then on top of that it has the shield regenerator that makes it tough to kill early on with a small fleet.

Then there ships are so cheap off hte start and way too good for the money the TEC ships are barely better and cost too much more.

Mmm and with the change to the black market the TEC has effectively as much resources as it has money for - and god knows the TEC don't have issues getting money.

The long and the short of it is that the TEC has ALWAYS had the worst ships. Its the 'zerg' race. You can BUY more of them than the other races.

Advent have good capital ships. Otherwise they have the weakest frigates of the bunch.

Advent are considered by most unplayable. Things have probably changed by 1.03 though.

You think that the Advent are overpowered. Someone posted yesterday that the Advent are too weak for "competitive play". Some people love the Vasari and other people hate them. Some people swear by TEC's abilities and other people don't like them. Seems pretty balanced to me! When everyone hates something but likes another something else, then balance is right on target.

Personally, I can play as either Advent or TEC. As TEC I've learned many ways of disabling an Advent player early on. It's easy to send a Kol at the Vasari and do major damage especially due to it's anti-phase missile shields, but a Sova or Akkan works even better against an Advent due to embargo and ion bolt, respectively. Think on your toes and you'll find even better ways to approach different situations and different races of enemies. I have never gotten along playing as the Vasari, but that's more of a play style thing than something to comment about being negative.

Yea... before patch 1.03 came out I''d have to disagree with OP. None of them were overpowered or better then any other. They were just simply more dynamic and varied. I mean I played Vasari and TEC and utterly pwned bitches, BUT the key was how I arrived there. Now I'm playing the Advent and find their caps insanly amazing. Unfortunatly patch 1.03 has tipped the scales towards the TEC heavily. Especially against uber hard AI. I'm sure they'll fix the market dynamic ad increase resource asteroids to provide more balance to the game, but until they do I would argue that TEC has become a juggernaut.
