Question about Multiplayer Lobbies

Okay, let's say it shows there are 350 players online. It then shows I'm in Lobby 6.

What's the whole deal with this "Lobby 6" thing? Does this mean there are other players in other lobbies? Is the 350 just for Lobby 6 or is that the number of players online for all the lobbies? What if myself and my friend log into the game? Is it possible we will be in separate lobbies and will not be able to see each other in the game?

There are more players in other Lobbies. Unfortunately it is my understanding that as of right now we can't view a list of "available" lobbies (as they do seem to change)

EG.
You load into IC online and find yourself in LOBBY 2. You click change lobby and you type LOBBY 1 in the top. You'll now find yourself in LOBBY 1 where there may or may not be other people. I usually try LOBBIES 1 - 5 to see the rest of the people online.
