Attempted 7 games last night

First time playing MP (on ironclad anyway) Joined 7 games, the host gave up and left every one after 15-20 minutes. That is the most annoying feeling.

Any groups on here that play dedicated games and don't quit  everytime the phone rings?

Tough luck! If you find me online I'll host for you.

You can add me to your list as well. Me and 3 of my friends have been playing quite a few private games to have fun with.

This is in every single Rts you are ever going to play. There is no way of avoiding it. I suggest that there be a similer system that DotA in Warcraft 3 uses. They have a league that people must try out for to get in. Only for experienced players. If you leave in the middle of a game to many times you are sure to get banned. They should at least make some sort of ban system that hosts can use.

The problem is with host dropping that kills the game for everyone. This is not the same for every online game. A person quitting should not terminate the game for other players. It is a problem for Sins because it doesn't have a dedicated server.

I have the game setup right to host, and I have hosted a couple. But, when it would attempt to migrate to me...but it still dropped everyone...I don't get it.

Yes Grimms I use same name for ICO. If you don't see me in Lobby, check IRC channel #sins (use stardock central chat option to connect).

Ah to have battlenet and be able to check your opponets disconnects and win / loss ratio before games.

I would recommend starting a "Drop Out" thread where you list all the people who quit without finishing a game.

Those people can defend themselves (extenuating circumstances, etc.), but it would be a nice resource to see who quits before the end of the game and who will stick it out.

One 10 player game I joined, 5 people quit when they found out the speed was set to normal and not fast, with the host shortly following.

If you're a host and you lose a game, and you would like to use your machine for something else, the game seems to be able to switch to 'window' mode without dropping anyone. Hit the menu button, go to 'options > video' and click 'use window mode'. Just be careful how much bandwidth you chew when people are trying to kill each other.

If the host is defeated and leaves then don't blame the host for the game ending. It's an issue that needs to be addressed in ICO (or more people to fix their own hosting issues).

Everyone has the right to leave their games...they just need to get a loss for doing so . :p

Play team games. If you kill the host on his team, chances are his allies would lose the 2v3 anyway. If they couldn't even ben bothered to defend their dying ally, they probably wouldn't put up much of a fight.

I never seem to see these issues, I guess because I just host my own games...
