armour/weapon types

   Is there write up somewhere on which armour types/weapon types ships have and what they are strong against?

I.E is 20 dmg from a heavy cruiser the same as 20 dmg from a light frigate or 20 damage from a fighter squad?

I also read somewhere that heavy cruisers have super heavy ship armour....what does that mean in terms of damage mitigation.
