scuttleing research structures

If you finish with all of the research in a catagory can you scuttle the research structures used in that catagory and keep the bonus or will you lose access to the benifits of that research if you do?

No, while you retain the tech you reasearched you still must have the req number of research stations for techs of that level to be active.

I believe you keep most bonuses, but must keep the number of research centers to build unlocked units/use unlocked abilities (i.e. Cruisers, Trade Centers, Novalith, Returning Armada, so on).

Returning armada stays I think. But the others do not.
