Jarrasul Evacuator->Nano-Dissassembler

ok this post is concerning the Jarrasul Evacuator(The whale) and Any effective method to kill it, This ship with Nano dissassembler will Destroy any capital ship of a relatively equal level early in the game, Nano Dissassembler does 30 Damager per second for 20 seconds(and it cools down in 12) and at level 0 it buffs -2 Armour to the target, level 1 -4, level 2 -6. having level 1 in a skill can be fairly easy early on so most often you fight this ship And it has your armour in the negative, and you take a total of 600 damage in degeneration every 20 seconds. Now having a positive Armour value negates some damage sustained... Does having a Negative armour value increase damage sustained?

Has anyone found a decent way to combat this ship cost effectively? so far it east alive everything i try, even when i outnumber the ship and it's accompanying fleet, i always seem to lose a capital ship early on, and only sometimes can i kill his also

capital ships only take 75% damage from capital ship abilities.

I wonder if i played you yesterday...i did this very same thing vs your Progenitor Mothership, but anyways.

The simplest way is to just use the frigates that can nuke antimatter, since it requires 75(i think) Antimatter to activate, early on most cap ships will be level 1,so it's unlikely he'l have the gravity ability aswell, and if he does he'l waste alot of antimatter.

On another note....you could just turn tail and run, noone's forcing you to fight him(unless he's sieging you,but why someone would do that so early on,especially with the space whale is beyond me)

No not me, i don't touch advent, Their Weak and compassionate. TEC is ruthless and cunning, at least when i play them, My motto is "No one outbids the TEC"

taking 75% of dmg is besides the point because it's still a ton of damage for a starter ability.

As for running, you can't run from every fight otherwise your more crippled then you would have been.

The antimatter cost is pretty big, and it is a forward facing ability! Given how slowly the bloody thing turns it is a pain to use :( Yes it will make you run early on, and it is useful at that. It will take2 minutes to kill your capital however, so u got plenty of time to kill the whale! Also the damage doesn't tick in phase lanes.

I'm not sure how you even get into this situation. My experience is that capital ships, and even frigate and most cruisers, move far too slowly to actually *GET* into a fight, and will most likely entirely lose fleet cohesion trying, and get eaten alive by bombers. 30 bombers will destroy a capital ship in like two passes, so all of my fights have involved two fleets at stand-off range duking it out with strike craft. Anything else, and you won't even be able to CATCH the enemy force.

30 Bombers eh?
They were talking about the early game with cap levels 1-3 and a few frigs as fleets.

From my experience the nano-disassembler is indeed devastating early.
It costs 75 antimatter which is pretty cheap if you compare it to other abilities and it does huge amounts of damage to capitals for that stage of the game.

The most economic solution is defending with a repair dock or two backing you up, as early fleets wont be able to kill your cap through the support even with the disassembler.
Yes that might mean you have to retreat from a contested system...
As TEC I would never try to engage a whale in early game (before I have enough LRMs to hurt it) as none of your capitals is even remotely up to the task of defeating it.

Just to add my own story ... I was vasari and had the wale as my first cap ship, ran into the enemy, his fleet twice the size as mine and with 2 caps! I was able to defeat both of them although i did lose the wale in the process (I was in the field of a repair orbital platform so that helped a lot). It was tense though :LOL:
