Taking on the Vasari with Advent

Defense/Flak , Mass Fighter , Illuminators every now and then but basically mass back flak ships to counter LRMS since they're a lot beefier in every respect and with fighter/bomber dominance you should be able to push them back.

Actualy anti fighter ships can be very good against missile frigates.

Having a superior force of strike craft will mostly give you the edge in the battles considering advent squadrons do the most damage when fully upgraded. However, I have heard that their survivability is the lowest of any of the 3 races. So make sure they do not have a strong fighter presence or flak ships. Then just have your swarms take them out. If there are any subverters supporting the missile ships you might want to take them out first since they add a 25% greater chance for missiles to phase past shields. I normally play Vasari so I know a lot about their strengths. Don't know so much about advent so I couldn't tell you a truly good strategy to counter.

It is a tough fight, not gonna lie.

Advent have the best fighter / bombers...and fighters eat missile boats alive. They are also useful for hit and run tactics. The Radiance battleships also have a "super cannon" for taking out groups of frigates and have very strong armor for an Advent ship. I usually only get 4 or 5 frigates with a cannon blast, but one person on the forums claimed he got 14 TEC LRM frigates with one blast. Maybe park one near multiple repair bases and an antimatter recharger, and use a support battleship, the one that reduces cooldown times on abilities.

Advent cap ship abilities are very powerful and you have to take a hard look at the combinations you might pull off. Vasari phase missiles are really nasty end game, and hopefully by this time you are at least challenging him with the culture advantage, because you don't want to fight an even sized Vasari fleet out in the open away from repair and recharge stations.

I play Vasari a lot and must agree with Cykur's strat. When I see I am up against advent I got heavy on the missile frigates and upgrade sheild bypassing tech. If you see a Vasari player your best bet is early-mid game harrassment to gain advantage. Missile frigates cost crystal so if you can deny him that you should do well.

Yes they sure do, but when you can get a Vasari/Advent alliance then it is truly over for everyone else. (no joke. Its like unstoppable) lol.
