Target acquisition?
Do individual units within a fleet inteligently determines the best target?

So from reading around, and hearing the interview with the producer of this fine game on the January 31st edition of the PC Gamer Podcast, I thought I'd give Sins a try.
I wasn't disappointed in the slightest! Great game!
During the interview the producer (who's name I can't recall - sorry :NOTSURE: ) he mentioned that shield mitigation is a big deal, and I noticed that it does have quite the impact.
I also read in a preview somewhere that I wouldn't need to micro manage huge battles too much. Unfortunately, I haven't really noticed that. For example, when I send a large fleet of frigates, lead by a capital ship, all the frigates just focus their fire on what ever unit my capital ship decides to attack. This means that I sometimes have 50+ ship fleets all attacking one unit, losing a bunch of potential damage to the effects of shield mitigation.
Am I doing something wrong? Do the targets get selected at a fleet level rather then an individual unit level?
