Dedicated server exe?

May have been asked before, I browsed the forums for an answer but didn't find it. If I missed it, I am sorry.

Are there any plans for a dedicated server exe? It would really be nice if there were. A simple consolewindow would do. No need for the extra bells and whistles. Just use an .ini file for settings and have the server react to certain keypresses in it's window (q for shutdown etc.)

If I recall correctly ICO wants all Internet based games to go through their servers for licensing reasons. So unless that position changes I dont think it will happen.

For what it is worth I agree with your position and advocated the idea back in the beta but was shot down.

I can certainly understand their point but it is possible to have the dedicated server authenticate. But they knew that ofc. I just hope they host some on their own in that case (IF this game builds on a client-server model and not a p2p model that is)...

I am just saying. It helps the game live longer.
