Pirates may be bugged

Well maybe it's how it's supposed to work, i dont know, i havent been following the game
for long. Thing is, i just finished a game with 3 AIs in a 5 stars map.

When the game finished (i had to surrender... i was sandwiched by 2 of em, had a battle
going for about 30 mins, i shouldnt have sent reinforcements in, lost most of my fleet lol)
i was checking the stats they give you at the end, when i noticed that the AIs didnt kill 1 single pirate, their stats were flat. So either the stats are broken, or putting bounties on the AIs only get you free of the raid, but pirates wont attack em. I dont know if this always happen, i'll check the stats again after my next game.

Were you bribing the Pirates to attack them? If you didn't give the pirates any money, they probably just attacked you. THey're greedy, those pirates...

Omg the whole time I was just fighting pirates I had to give up on my first game because there was no way in hell I was going to beat the huge force the assembled. It seems like they are just to much of a problem, I was more worried about being out bid on the bounty then my opponent attacking me.

Yeah you might not have placed a bid or kept it high enough for them to attack an enemy faction. I myself have personally seen enemy fleets attack and destroy pirates, in one case I followed quickly after a pirate fleet and kept my ships far enough away as they softened the massive enemy fleet then swooped in after the pirates were dead and crippled the enemy fleet.

If you have seen em attack the AI then i guess it was particular bug with that match, i'm pretty sure i bribed enough, over 10k credits one of the times.

Watching the pirates rape the AI is quite fun at times. Oddly enough in my last game one particularly bad AI got hit three times back to back by pirate fleets in a span of a few minutes. It was glorious to sit there and watch. I'm still not sure how it happened but it was fun nonetheless.

All I have to say about the AI in the game...is it's an @**hole. I finally got a fleet big enough to thrash the pirate base. Destroyed it's defences and was bombarding the asteroid, most of my fleet was damaged and...BOOM...in flies the AI player with his full battle fleet to steal my kill.
