1st Training Mission Crashed-- Now broken

So I went to play the training mission and right when it had me take my fleet to explore the 2nd planet the game crashed. Somehow I got back to my desktop and was able to try again. This time I lowered the resolution back to 1024x768 (saw a bug around about training and resolutions) and was able to play the 2nd and 3rd missions no problem... but the first mission is broken. By broken I mean it loads and puts me at the beginning but no tutorial messages pop up and there's no way to advance the mission.

How the heck do I reset this? At all? I feel like I'm missing a lot not having finished that tutorial.

Running: Windows Vista Ultimate (32bit), nVidia GeForce 7600 GS x2 (SLI), 2gig ram, Athlon X2 2800+.

Mine never crashed, but the 1st training mission, nothing happens, just two ships blowing the crap out of each other and neither receiving hull or shield damage... and it just on like that forever, until I exited the mission.

Tutorials are fubarred but a fix is coming soon. I added additional comments to the thread where the 1024x768 solution was first brought up - it isn't the magic work around we though it was. In the meantime the best way to learn the game is to start a match on a small map against an easy AI.

I had a similar problem with the Tutorials, I had to watch the second before the first would work.

Still after watching the tutorials, I decided to play a game with the Advent. I Like Psionic/Tech massminds. Amazingly enough (or maybe not), I was completely lost with few of the techs/buildings with similar analogs. Aside from a few basic elements, the tutorials REALLY don't seem to help too much. The manual is a bit better of explaining how the game works while the tutorials give a very basic view of how the controls work.

Granted the Normal AI I "practiced" with taught me quite a bit about the strategy of the game. I learned about pirate raids. I learned about sniping the clock. I was shown how to coordinate attacks with pirate raids. Of course, it was a demonstrative class where I was the subject.

Good times.... Good Times....
