It's not the game, its probably an issue with Vista and security permissions needed (in order to edit your registry) for adding start-menu shortcuts etc.

Try running stardock central as "administrator"...... see what happens.

btw...this is assuming that your first statement "...just installed game.....click finish.." means you haven't been able to progress past that point.

I think he means it's installed but it freezes when he runs it?  If so, try running the game as administrator?

Hmm.. so I downloaded this stardock central thing, registerd my game, and let it do the update, It asked if It could add a desktop shortcut, i said yes. When done, I tried to run game again.. and COMPUTER LOCKUP/FREEZE.... had to hold down button again.

Nebulawar... there is another thread on this topic, looks similar in title to mine. My issue is different than yours though I believe.

It instantly freezes the machine? No startup or intro screen?

I have a hunch on this one. Please go to the command window (start->run->cmd). Navigate to your sins directory and then type "dir /s > output.txt". Then send the output.txt to [email protected].

I don't know where you installed it but you probably want to type something like:

cd c:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\Sins of a Solar Empire

A few random things you can try.

Install the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer (2nd one down on this page): http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html

Also, install the latest graphics drivers for your Radeon card located here: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=vista32/common-vista32

Just something to try while you wait on support..
