Un-install beta 4

Just had a confused conversation with another player about upgrading my Beta-4 sins to the retail version. I was going to uninstall beta-4 as i'd done with beta-3 and then update from Stardock central. I've just been told you don't need to uninstall beta-4 before updating to retail. Just making sure I don't screw this up. Comment on update procedure please?

You should uninstall it first (if you have the latest SDC, it will outright tell you that if you try to update).

Be safe, uninstall the beta. Even if somehow it lets you upgrade (it shouldn't), you're always safer wiping the past stuff completely to avoid future weirdness!

Uninstall everything Sins related. We just fixed up someone who couldn't run Sins because there were some left over files in the directory. :(

Sorry for being a noob, but how do you uninstall the beta 4?

I looked in the control panel/add or remove software, there is nothing there. I looking in the Sins directory, and there is nothing there.

So I am kinda stuck right now.

Thanks

Go to StarDock Central, select Sins, then look in the lower right hand corner. There should be an uninstall button.

Just right click on sins in SDC and pick Uninstall.

It says I need "adminstrator access rights" to unistall Sins Beta 4. What does this mean and how do I get around it?

I'm having the same issue. I can not uninstall the game, as I do not have administrator rights.

I am running Vista. And I DO have admin rights on my machine!

Try disabling the User Account Control settings, or whatever it's called. It messes up a lot of things :)

You may have an older build of SDC where the automatic admin-getting was broken. If that's the case you'll need to grab the latest version of SDC and reinstall it (preferable), or you can try just right clicking the SDC shortcut and running it as an admin manually.
