OK since I'm unclear of the current state-of-affairs within our burgeoning Sins modding community and in anticipation of a flood of new members when the game is released I decided to make a quick reference sheet for myself. When I was done it was rather sparse to say the least and I was really no further ahead then when I started. Thus I figured there ought be a single comprehensive thread so the entire community can easily see what is going on and who is working on what project. This would allow us all to work off of the same page so to speak in order to prevent misunderstandings, miscommunication and most importantly replication of work. Hence the creation of this post.

I decided to break things down into the following areas:

1. Name - The franchise brand name - self explanatory.
2. PoC - Point of Contact - The person who is apparently leading the project.
3. URL - Universal Resource Locater - The domain the project will be based at for the community.
4. Info - General information and overview - self explanatory.
5. Link - Threads on this forum related to the project.

Currently we have the following proposed projects in the works for major SF TV and game franchises. The projects are listed alphabetically and not in any order of preference or priority.

Name: BattleFleet Gothic (BFG)

Info: Based on the tabletop game Battlefleet Gothic, which is set in the tumultuous Warhammer 40,000 universe during the chaos caused by Abbadon's 13th Black Crusade, this mod focuses on tactical command and many races with very distinctive strengths and weaknesses. This mod will be released in pieces, but will eventually include all the races of Warhammer 40k. The first races to be released will be Chaos, the Imperial Navy, and Tau.

Info: Sins of Alethia (SoA) is the project name because both the Cylons and humans believe they are on the side of truth in their respective intrepid struggles. We are hoping to achieve not only an accurate representation of classical and contemporary BSG lore, but to also pay tribute fans by firmly grounding the project in the extensive BSG fan-fiction lovingly crafted by its followers and incorporate our own in to the mix.

If this information is not accurate please post in this thread and let me know. I will update things accordingly within a 48 hour period.

I would like it if project leaders could make a quick description of their project for inclusion in this thread and provide any other relevant information that is listed as "need" so all the new blood can easily understand what is going on with what and with whom. I will also add links to the appropriate primary thread within this community as well as make links back to the project leaders once confirmed. The same goes for the websites and development forums. The banners will be replaced with one for the project when an official one is made available. Additionally if there is any other data that people feel would be useful to be listed please let me know.

I've decided to go ahead with an EVE conversion mod. I don't do graphics, so I'm going ahead with everything else until I can get some assistance. The mod is going to stay unofficial unless I get the blessing of CCP, so names may have to be fudged.

1. Name - Sins of the Mother

3. URL - I gotta do some rearranging, I'll post the site tomorrow
4. Info - Total conversion mod based in the look and feel of the Eve universe. Will try to recreate from a command perspective the massive fleet battles that exist in the MMO.

Hmmm... My first reaction was YES!
But on second thought... The modus operandi in the Battletech universe are the mechs. Even though it would be cool to have space battles between Steiner and Kurita, if you can't drop mechs on the planet much of the Battletech essence is gone.

Wait... Couldnt this be done in Medieval 2:TW? Or World In Conflict?
Argh! Look what you did! Now you made reinstall Mech Commander 2 again!

If some of these mods don't get released soon, people will move on. All though the game is freeform, having no campaign is a big let down imo, so ther are two issues.

Space battles are a big part of the BT universe, sadly though the novels mainly focus on the mechs as have most of (if not all) of the games made. A battletech mod would be awesome. I keep waiting for one in WIC, but it doesn't seem like it's getting any love. :-(

Updated. Sorry looking at this thread via the TGN skin and the layout and color scheme is somewhat messed up. I am also using FF3 so I'm not sure if it is me or the forums so I'll wait until SD says they are fully FF3 compliant before any major rework of the thread.

The only real FF3 issue is the stacking of the login/pass blanks. Layout and such are fine, I've been using it since release.
