Replacing players with AI question.

when you replace a player, can they come back later?

First post on this website, and if the game is good as i think it is that this won't be my last.

Somewhere I had read that in multiplayer matches, human players can be replaced with a AI.

My question is once a human player has been replaced with a AI, can they player later return and reclaim his spot in the game?

I ask this because getting several people together at the same repeatedly over the course of one of the largest maps (was sated as taking a month or more to finish) can be difficult. It would be much easier if you can replace someone with a AI and continue the game, and next time around if the person is available they can reclaim their empire and continue the match.

It's not perfect, i'll probably rip my hair out over what the AI did to my empire, but without this feature the largest maps are not doable (at least for me).

Once the Drop has occurred, and an AI takes over, the player cannot resume later. However, the game autosaves frequently (configurable, I believe), and you CAN reload the most recent save and resume from there with all the players intact.

Neither of which is what he is asking about. He's wondering if you can have an AI replace a human player (say, because human player isn't available that day) then have the human player take back over.

In my experience, thats (to) buggy. But its possible they've fixed it internally.

Quick Question: Do all the people who played the game originally have to attend to load a game, or does AI just take over the remaining spots. Also, can other players join a loaded game in the place of someone else?
