Could we get wheel-zoom functionality on the Timeline tab?

This just struck me, and at a terribly late date for someone who makes a habit of looking for "ergonomic weaknesses" in software.

The tech tree has wheel-zoom functionality, but the Timeline tab of the Civilization Manager does not. Long-game players create Timeline curves that can look very different short-term vs. long-term, and after a few game years it takes many clicks to change persepctive between the full game and the last few months.

So I have two questions: 1) Would other folks find a change like this handy? and 2) If so, any idea whether this is a fairly simple code request or a big hairy mess not worth the bother?

I think it's a good idea, and I agree the current UI is clumsy when moving between extremes of short vs. long timeframes. However, one reason it's a pain, is that there is usually some lag on my computer before each new timeline is displayed as I click the arrow. It varies depending on the size of the map, number of opponents, and probably other factors. I have a mid-level CPU with 2 gigs RAM. I'm wondering if the timeline could be calculated fast enough on a slow to mid-level machine to keep up with a mouse-wheel roll?

If that's a limitation, then maybe we could get a pull-down list of several different default times with a right-click of the mouse, for quickly selecting a short or long timeframe. Then it could be fine-tuned to taste with the arrows. But I like the mouse wheel idea better, if the number crunching and display could be optimized to keep up with it.

Bumping in hopes of getting this humble detail on the 2.0 list.

It's already there, scroll your mouse wheel over the right arrow....if you scroll slowly it will change weekly, if you scroll quickly it will jump 3 weeks.

Thanks very much, slider609.

That's a bit less tedious than a click for every week, but I'd still like to see the graph itself be the hotspot and have a bit more zoom-to-spin. I play long games, and by the middle I usually like to compare the last six months or so to the full graph.

Maybe the mouse wheel isn't the best way to get what I want--perhaps making the "Show Min" button restore your last non-all view?
