Whats that?
Blue light.
What does it?
It shines blue.
;p

I dont like the blue one, sry.
The yellow is awesome, the red is good and the green one is ok.
(You should take a darker green)

Ah, and good work Multi :CONGRAT:

Now I'm going to have to get back in photoshop shape, at this rate you're going to beat me :x

I really like the last red screenshot. Purdy!

*considers the red as a new background for sins.bz*

Yeah the red is pretty cool :D

I was also looking at modding a planet o.O those are insanely detailed, and so confusing with all the squares :(

It only works on a simple/dim star field. If you take an ingame screenshot with it it'll work well ;) But I really like the planet shot you have on the site, too :P

As for the planet, it's an actual 3d object so to really mod it you'd actually need a modeling proggy, I imagine (like Maya, 3dsmax). You might be able to create a Photoshop texture to slap on it, but I doubt it'd look very pretty :P But I don't really know how that's set up in Sins..

would love to see how its done, could be very useful for further modding :D

Modeling planets in 3dsmax is not difficult (I used to do a little), but unlike Photoshop, there you just wrap a texture around the planet, you can't play with the textures like you can in Photoshop. So, for Photoshop the only real thing you care about in a texture is the pattern, but if you want to texture in 3dsmax you need the finalized texture that would actually look good wrapped around a sphere and make a convincing planet.

So, you'd probably have to use Photoshop to create such a texture, then import into 3dsmax :P

Again though, that's unrelated to Sins, there was a thread about mod-modeling stuff by people more knowledgeable on how Sins treats it, I'm just talking basic functionality/differences of the two proggies :P

*head explodes*
dang sounds really harder then i had imagined :NOTSURE:

But to the artists of the planets and skybox's, wow i gotta say that the detail is amazing :D
Just when you play the game you dont really look at all the details in its full glory, but when you open up a planets texture and looks at how detailed the planet really is, one has to be amazed about the work that has been put into it :D

And just think, we haven't even gotten a finished product! :D (Last I heard, the planets we're looking at are placeholders, right?)

meh... so multi gets all "danish™" and begs me to post here because he needs my approval...

so...

I wrote a huge reply here, and as usual the forums never posted it, it was a beautiful post, so degrading and making fun of multi and his lackluster work, it brought a tear to my eye as I wrote it, so much hatred and anger flowed through the words of my reply, sadly to be lost into the nothingness of the interwebs...

sigh... // downloads the file

they look amazing even on this crappy machine! Is there anyway to make a sky box color appear?

and does anyone know how to load sins from a certain file path so I can keep a modded an unmodded game?

options / effects then click "use colored skyboxes" or continue to do so until you get what you want.

copy the game into a new folder and put the modded files in there
