Problem connecting online games.

So, I go to a college where we have specific proxy setting that blocks most incoming and outgoing data. I can connect to the online channels yet when I try to start a game or connect to one it won't allow me. I was wondering if there would be any way to input the proxy information into the game so that it would know how connect properly. I have to do this with several other games and programs.

Shouldn't you be able to set the proxy up with windows so any program will use it automatically?

I have set it up for the internet in windows, yet I still have problems with seperate programs. I have to put in the proxy settings for individual programs, such as my anti-virus for auto update. It is the way that the network at my school is set up. Its messed up and aggravating, but there are ways around it.
