Time...

How to...

Question...How do I get the time to show in my rainies. Tried with boss0190's ini from droplet but it caused Rainlendar to crash. Any suggestions/tips are most welcome...please.

Thanks for your reply My Secret...is v2.1 the newer rainlendar because I don't use that one. I'm just asking how to do it. It's in the help section of rainlendar, tells you about getting the time zone format and such but when I try it nothing happens. It doesn't show up on the rainy. And what does (b38) mean? I know I'm a dum dum

Paste this command in your ini pad after your button commands. Then edit the X and Y values on the ini pad itself ( check one of your buttons X and Y values to get an idea where to begin so it will show up on rainy. You also edit the font and font size on the ini pad command line. The font size is the first numbers after font=
Fontcolor=FFFFFF ( white) FontColor=000000 ( black) etc
Only paste what is in bold below.

[Time1]
Window=0
X=96
Y=222
Rasterizer=FONT
Align=18
Font=14/0/0/0/700/0/0/0/0/3/2/1/34/Arial
FontColor=FFFFFF
Format= %#I:%M %p

Thanks Fairyy but this I've already done. When I say it doesn't show up I mean to say that the time doesn't. I checked the help list in Rainlendar under skin configuration where it shows you what to use and the !Bang for it. You see...when I used the ini from droplet on a small from the windowblinds collection it should have worked. No reason for it not to. Why it caused rainlendar to crash is what has me stumped. The time zone format,i.e. GMT (05:00) Eastern Standard (US & Canada) listed in Windows Time and Date is what the help file says is needed. I don't think you put that in the ini as I did not see it in any of the others that use it. Getting the time and date itself to show up is what I need to know. The section (Time) in the ini is the simple part...why it crashes is something else. I do however thank you for responding. You are always right there when my brain gets 'pickled'...thanx

Im not sure what they are talking about, I've made many Rainies with time and date and the command I pasted here is off of one of my functioning rainies. Is the info they are giving you for the new version of rainy 2.0 or just for either or ?

As for Rainy crashing, it has happened to me. I just move my skins out of rainy folder and reinstall same version. Sometimes its just messed up. One thing that is weird is if time or date is too close to a button, it will disappear off the rainy.
If you get frustrated you can send me the rainy and I will try to add the time where you want it and see if it will work that way.

Adding the time to a regular Rainy isnt the same as the mini-mode. Mini mode disables the month and day and year etc.

Droplet was done on an older version of Rainlendar...over a year ago..and I haven't touched a newer version or made any since...so that may very well be the problem.

I know it worked then, but more than likely the code has changed a lot since I made it.

I just mentioned it for you to try, hoping it would still work. Guess if I start skinning
Rainys again...I better update. :lol:

But he said the command I gave him didnt work either and I made a Rainy with that command not long ago. It works. I'm using the last version of Rainlendar before 2.0
I also have 2.0 installed as you can have bother version but skinning the newer version is still a pain.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us I have both versions but the newer one is too much of a pain. Going to give it another go with a new rainy. In the meantime... This was going to be a rainy except...if you scroll down to the bottom of settings in the help menu there is a section dealing with multiple calendars. It say...Grid Left To Right, Grid Top To Bottom, Grid Across And Down. These define which way the months flow in the different layouts when multiple calendars are displayed. But...there is no !Bang for that! Go figure...I was going to display an entire year on... The Door!

Think I've finally figured out why time doesn't work with my rainies. I think it has something to do with the fact that I have Rainlendar lite and not the full version. It could be that it is not supported. I'm going after the full soon. Lets see if that solves my problem. And...see if I can find a way to display a full year. Hope you have a realllllly big screen Fairyy

Then for the life of me I can't figure out why it doesn't work on mine. Put in the command line exactly as you gave it to me Fairyy...minus the x and y values. Maybe it has something to do with windows time format or something. I dunno but...I think I've found a way 'todo'......The Door! I'll let you know.

Which Rainy are you trying to add the Time to ? Is it one you already uploaded ? I can add the time for you to see if its something to do with your Windows clock being messed up. It is possible that it is..when the US change their daylight savings time to be 4 weeks earlier starting this year it caused my clock to be messed up. No matter how many times I synchronized it with Time.com it was reverting back until I disabled the auto update to daylight savings.

Just let me know.

I'm using rainlendar lite myself and have gotten the time feature to work,
at first the time didn't show up but that was just a mistake on my part, needed to tweak the x & y coord's until the time displayed in the correct place on my rainy skin.

I must be using an older version of rainlendar, my apps shows version 0.22.1

Also once you get the time working on your rainy skins, if you want you can also add the seconds to your time display as well by adding the seconds switch as shown here:

Format= %#I:%M:%S %p

Fairyy...try anyone of those I've already uploaded.

unclerob...I have the same version - 0.22.1 - and the plugins are the same. Could be that the x and y coords need adjusting. Did that a bit with no results.

Oh and Fairyy...if you need to...modify the image to fit...no biggie.

Clock sync is working fine. Updates with internet time on my ISP.

Curiously though...when I did play with coords and put the exact values in the command line for one of the buttons nothing happened. I'm gonna dig into this one. No reason for it not to work.
