The 'second' Cold war

The 'second' Cold war

this makes me nervous...

Had a discussion in class, then heard a huge discussion on the radio. And then I found this...
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20060710/cohen

To say the least this makes me nervous, but partially I agree with Russias motives. The US has been throwing its weight around little to much.

I did have shiny benefits and as long as you didnt proetest in the governments face you had as many rights as anyone else in the world.

anyone else notice a contradiction?
am not saying it was the 'right' government, but neither is Democracy

when was this the issue?
I'm pointing out that sovies collapsed because of economy, and that the corruption that ensued was because of that economic collapse. it really has nothing to do with government
although I dont agree with you on that point

How can corruption have nothing to do with government. Please explain this, really please, use your oh so much supperior knowledge of politics and poli-sci to explain to my poor commoner mind.

they aren't foolhardy, they're well documented and supported.

for someone with a halfass arguement in just about every thread, you sure are arrogant.

Never denyed it did I? No, and its not part of my real arguement. Its just a simple crtique. Which you keep dodging. Wheres your "oh so mighty" suppor that always seems to win?

So they come to places like here and argument with they truth.

well, great emperor, some Americans seem to know about everything =D

Dont try to lie, I have taken some myself, but there is no way you as a sixteen year old will be able to take college courses at anything better then community level.

*raises hand* Right here, and I agree on a lot of things, some of Russia is like that.

Seems that the ace of all trades, is also the ace of stereotypes.

as opposed to "I knew it from birth"?
yeah.
Its like your version of the Bible

its relatively reliable and a wide database.
Hm... hypocrit

I asked you to stop pointing out flaws. Now I could call you a hypocrit, but because I asked you to stop pointing out flaws (NOT because I'm a hypocrit, which I'm not) I won't

Ahaha, my teachers call it the 'fools source' for the reason that any idiot can get an acount and change all the information on almost any page.

whu?

Americans

try MIT bitch

Dont think so, I need proof. Barely anyone gets into that school with well conected parents. What makes you so special?

Ahaha, my teachers call it the 'fools source'

its a shitty source, but not a bad reference. I have plenty of people (teacher or otherwise) who will support me on that
and again, who would bother posting that? I'm not looking up prolific articles (such as G. W. Bush)
Americans

ahahaha... who is the hypocrit, you say?

they are independantly funded for gifted high school students using MIT staff and profesor resources.
i.e. MIT classes without the MIT bottlenecking.

Thats is exactly something a hypocrit, trying to defend whatever credit they have with the community, would say.

Not quite proof. At least of such a programs existance. Then we can discuss what makes you so special.

I'm just pointing out that you're the one "king of" stereotyping.

and what do I give a damn about what the community thinks? at best I try not to embarress other people too much.
Not quite proof. At least of such a programs existance

where else would I take a course on relativity...
Then we can discuss what makes you so special

try the fact that I'm not making an ad hominem arguement?
or is it that I'm just not losing anyhow.

Any community college with a physics program.

try the fact that I'm not making an ad hominem arguement?
or is it that I'm just not losing anyhow.

Firs off, if you to going to put question marks at the end of a sentace, at least try to phrase a question

Next off, your starting to bable and your post make little sense to me. Please illiterate.

Please illiterate

...
and I'm babbling

I think you mean "please iterate"
Any community college with a physics program.

most courses at com colleges are crap (ones open to non-college students anyhow). they wouldn't allow a non college student into a course that would normally be levels higher.
my knowledge is a bit deeper than that.

Thank you for proving my point, there is no way they would let you in to an MIT course.
again misunderstanding.
the courses I take are college level (not MIT, but levels higher than other college's) but are held independantly of college.
therefore its open because people who can go have the opening.

thats not that hard to understand.

Does this sound familliar?

yes, and I'm right.

and you even act like MIT's admission's demands are difficult to achieve. top 10% of your class? 3.5 gpa average? at least a few APs? 3 SAT IIs? 3 AP tests???

THAT IS SO REDICULOUSLY EASY. its not that MIT would be a difficult school to achieve their standards, its the sheer backflow that would prevent me from getting into the college. so in the end its all about luck.
a shining star at any other college is one of the masses to MIT
Reply #50 Top
3.5 gpa average

Where did you get this from.
And yes you could do all that, and get in. But at $40000 a year.

Yes, but apperently earlier on you tried to boast as if you took classes at MIT, which in the end proved to be you trying to lie.
