Not sure if this is a bug or not, I've manage to build a trade good in my empire, and suddenly after 30 turns I got a message saying other empire built the same trade good and claim exclusive right to it...

I went to diplomacy screen to check... the trade good they claimed they've build is not there, and my one is gone tooo!!!!!

what happened????

Minor races pay without spending their money?

When I've sold a lot of Trade goods to Alexians (350 bc for 30 turns) they had about 10k of money. After about 10 turns I wanted to trade more (I dropped below 1000 bc net income :-) and they had 13k - all that from 2 planets, max 6 trade lines and below average tech!
Any explanation please?
BTW the game is "Galactic Civilizations 1.01 & BonusPak (v1.01)"

Re: message 498

Yes, getting exactly the same problem in the trade screen with the latest build (1.02.040 I believe). The graphics on the sliders are "munged", to quote Phaedyme, and the 'Leave' button is now a 'string not found' button.

I have experienced (for the first time) the duplicate trade goods issue. I tried to take screenshots, but printscreen didn't seem to work.

At any rate, I did save the game at the point where it happened. The trade good in question was tri-strontium armor or alloys or whatever.

Also getting 'string not found' instead of 'leave' or 'accept' or whatever it was, in the diplomacy screen (april 7th update). And so I am unable to get the Arceans to accept my peace treaty offer (having them give me stuff to stop blowing 'em up), which makes me and them both sad. ;p

MISSING Buttons for SENTRY and GUARD for
Death Stars and Constructors

For the bug where your ships won't get built: this is usually caused by a missing file. Your debug.err file will tell you if it's missing a graphic.

Bug in the diplomacy window in which the 'leave' button says, "String not found." Then when I try to use the sliders for BC and influence in it, they're white and I can't use them unless I click the arrows. Then in-game, it suddenly crashed for no apparent reason. All of this occured after reinstalling GalCiv and then getting all the patches, bonuspaks, and then the new multimedia.

Fourth game in a row in which the "Waning civilization gets superpowers" event comes up. This time, the "waning" civilization was the Altairians, who was the second strongest civ in the game (the Arceans being strongest, and me having more military than either).

It hasn't played itself out yet, and all I have to do is kill the Arceans to get an alliance win, but, it is getting old.

There's a new update that went up this morning that should fix the bugs on the diplomacy screen. Make sure that you have Show Pre-Release software turned off.

Is it a bug that I can build Terror Stars BEFORE I resarch "Planetary Destruction" (which should really be a prerequisite tech for Terror Stars)...
Posted throughout, but someone recommended putting it in here again:

Galactic Wonders and Trade Goods are not unique. Multiple races can build the same "unique" item if they start building prior to the first completion.

Check the "Software" section of Stardock: there is a new patch that takes care of the "String not found" bug. Don't know about the others, though.

Several times I have double clicked on a starbase to see the info, and it asks me if I wanna trash it (yikes!). I have not been in enough of a hurry yet to accidentally say "yes," but if this could be fixed it would save me from getting pissed at myself. (Maybe happens when I move the mouse a bit during the double click?)

Also, I may just not understand this properly, but it seems like the repair rate is completely worthless/broken. Only thing I can think of is the repair is spread over a year..? Last game I had a 46% repair rate plus 3 starbases with repair modules (so 3% more?) and yet my base-135 health ships who were only hurt at around 100-110 were healing only 2-4 a turn when, by my reasoning, they should get about 62 health back (ie, 46%+ of 135). If this is intentional then can someone please post an explanation of how this works?

Also, Planetary defenses does not work as advertised - says it adds to ship defense, but my ships have no higher defense on the planet (all still 7 no matter where they were).

Thanks again for your dedication. *applauds*

I've got this bug where the turn button will quit working and the next turn will never come. I sat here a half hour waiting for my next turn and nothing happened. This seems to happen at random. I can never finish a game. :sniff!:

Stone Age Population Random Event:

The neutral and good choices appear switched; i.e. neutral moving existing population to subcontinent is negative (-20%) but the good using only the polar ice cap is negative (-3%).

On the new functionality of the trade sliders I get a repeatable CTD if I hit the insert key, type a value, then use the sliders.

Workaround: don't hit the insert key. :)

I've seen the "choosing good is better than neutral" events on more than one occasion. It seems to be a result of the random numbers involved in the event.

Had the UP event to create a trade federation. Later on I went to war and forgot I couldn't attack the trade ships. I received the message that you couldn't attack the ships. When I pressed the done button it would click but not ackowledge. It would be frozen until I CAD.

Another little thing that bug me.

The planet details page shows Population Growth as a header but no numbers or percentiles follow it.

Current Build:

I'm trying to negotiate to make peace with the I-League. They have 26 BC. When I click on the money slider, the game CTDs. I've had this happen twice in a row.

debug.err has this repeated about a hojillion times:

Debug Message: Not all child windows deleted for window ID: 982, pos -9, 0, size 185, 13.
Debug Message: Child with ID: 983, pos 0, 0, size 185, 13.

Had a crash near the end game after installing all current patches. The game just quit after a move, and dropped me back to desktop. I reloaded, and crashed again. Here's the SE log entry:
