CariElf:

regarding the colony ship: I accidentally loaded the entire system's population onto the colony ship - that concerned me more than the crash. It locked up after I launched the colony ship and immediately sent it back.

Actually, my problem with trade goods goes a bit deeper. It seems to me that minor races build tri-strontium steel (or whatever it is) within the first 40-50 turns in nearly every game I play. I don't think I've ever actually had a chance to get it into my build queue before someone else snapped it up.

BUG: Planet Events Repeat in Series
REV: 1.02 (1.01a38?)

I have observed that planet events happen in series. In my particular game, I have the following events happen 2+ times in a row (on newly colongized planets): pods for research, underwater squids, precursor technology, space pirates, and pre-industrial civilization.

Got several CTD's in huge and large universe. Trying to reload the autosave brought me in a framed red-coloured window without any savegame information.

Two things I've ran into:

I started a new game and spent a bunch of points to get a 80% population bonus. Now in the game my population is growing _extremely_ slowly. I'll have a class 20 planet fifty turns into the game that still only has 2 billion people. If I play a nearly identical game without putting anything in the population bonus, my population will be five times that. It looks like the population bonus is actually a penalty.

Dreadnoughts and higher didn't have an icon. They would be blank, but you could still click on them on the map. It made it really hard to tell what the enemy was doing!

This has nothing to do with the game, but how about putting some search functionality in the forums.

Version 1.02.036

#1) Mercantiles Elected

Why is it when the Mercantiles win the election (and I (Human) player am not mercantile faction), that the penalty for losing election majority includes their normal bonus? (-20 Trade -20 Espionage). This doesn't happen with other factions.

#2) Planet Detail Screen

Has the label Planet Quality. Does not have the actual value listed.

Phaedyme,

To match the Minor AI path (to compete with them), you have to dump everything into research for that path, then turn around and dump everything into building them. Then it is a race to who gets there first. Otherwise, they will always beat you.

Friday night build, 1.02.036(?)

Opened up aphrodisiac, and tried purchasing it. I had 253 in my treasury, and the Mitrosoft deal was for ~630 + 10 or 11 per month, hit accept, and my treasury went to -5043

This is silly!!! I asked the yors to sell me ALL their military stuff and transports and they accepted!!! I invaded them with THEIR TRANSPORTS FULL OF THEIR OWN TROOPS. Yors attacked yors under my orders. I killed 4/5 of the yors in a SINGLE TURN like this while I was a tiny bit stronger :(

SOLUTION:
The biggest proportion of someone's fleet you buy, the more it should cost you.
And troops inside transports should be like batteries: SOLD SEPARATELY ;p

Your whole download patch process is completely screwy. Please just post some sort of zip file that we can download and patch ourselves. There are all sorts of various paths in the setup process. I keep downloading the 80+ megs. The game is great, but the patch process *sucks*.

This seems to be a bug. When I spend money to destabilize a major race, the UI indicates that amount is also being spent on each minor race.

My game just crashed on tiny galaxy, and the players were at whatever intelligence is default. When I try to load the "last civilization" It just gives me screens with no info and every thing says "test text" It almost immediately crashes again...
Sigh, I was so close to victory, (I think).

Sorry, I guess that was posted already, I didn't feel like wading through 17 pages of posts. :p

Thanks :)

Bug:

If you have the planet window opened, it now updates.

However, the month/year counter remains the same.

Sorry if this has been reported. Did not have the stamina to read the entire thread.

Bug: Could not get a cultural victory! Had to sieze every last star system in order to end my first game. (:(

Was playing Merchants. Alies were all at the 2nd-hardest difficulty, and all alien alignments were random. 12x12 map, planet availability Occasoinal.

I was once given a blurb saying I was on the verge of achiveing a cultural victory. This was about the time when I had roughly 128 sectors. (7/8ths of 12x12 map). Not sure of the exact ratio...the game certainly did nto end as soon as I got the 128th sector. Shortly after getting this blurb, one of the aliens got a Glactic wonder that boosted one system's influence. I lost a few sectors for severa turns, before re-influenceing them. I never got a 2nd blurb advising of a close CultVic. Later on I got a year-start blurb telling my I had 98% of the total influence...still no CV.

I hope this is a bug and it can be patched. I was VERY impressed with the game. I found it to be quite enjoyable my first time through. So I hope this bug can be fixed. It is no fun just churning out turns for a game that you know you have won. :notsure:

Again, kudos on the game. I am very happy camper. :)

Found bug: Yearly update, it's talking about the political process. Appears that the last paragraph is cut off "Approval tends to decrease as the population increases. That's because the" Cut's off there. Cannot scroll any further.

In version 1.2.036:

The precursor event (+morale or +research) has the bonsues reversed from what the text says; I have +200% morale from getting it twice, when I actually chose the research option both times.

The display on the planet details screen is truncating text; the population growth and planet quality lines don't display anything.

All sorts of events and whatnot truncate text when it can't fit in the available lines for display.

Here's a fun one: I traded for Defence Theory with another race and still had to Research it to be able to have it. It's almost as if those two components of the game don't talk to each other.

Also, my "diplomatic" chart/graph is still always flat-lined.

Oh, and 2 UP resolutions in a row was how fast to let/make Constructors travel. Hard to get good secretarial help at the United Planets?

Bug: Game crashes when "Stats" tab is clicked in domestic advisor.
Ver: 1.00 -> 1.02 (tried all three)

I'm in a fun little cold war with the Altarian Republic. I raised the Espionage Priority and attained a "Medium" level of penetration against them. Unfortunately, I can no longer look at the "Stats" tab in the domestic advisor. Everytime I look at it, the game crashes and vanishes. None of the other tabs cause this, and it only happens when I look at the nation I have the Medium level of penetration against. I tried patching it through both 1.01 and 1.02, and it still occurs. I tried raising the penetration to High, and it still occurs. Just thought I'd add it to the list.

here's one with regards to one of the yearly report screens entitled "the politcal process".

The text just ends in mid sentence and doesn't scroll any further down.
