Don't know if this one have been reported. Here it is :

Could'nt get to war with a race because the senate voted against.
So i made a trade with an other race : I'd make war against the first for free!
So the senate could'nt block my war.

Just a little annoyance. With the colony ships I find it annoying to have launch them into space then re-enter orbit if I want to colonise a planet in the same system. Possibly have a colony base type setup for in system colonisation?
Arokh: You don't have to. Double-click them, assign a number of people, then click a planet in-system without hitting launch.

when you buy a social building (Galactic Stock Exchange in my case) and then check the planetary details, the governor overrides the build.
The Galactic Stock exchange is however removed from the queue so it can never be built again. The planetary bonus of the wonder IS in effect however, but the empire-wide bonus is not. The trade good is also not available to trade when it disappears from the list this way.

Just a suggestion for this monster thread:

Perhaps the devs can give us a quick summary on what bugs are already listed (and/or acknowledged) in a new topic and we can post "new" bugs or anomalies there?

It's kinda impossible to tell wether something was already adressed here... :p

Just my 2c...

I don't know if this is a bug or a very weird feature, but I had a 5-planet system with a colony ship (no thing) and a few planets that were seriously overcrowded with an unfixable morale of 1, so I scaled up the population to remove from the system. ANYway, I hadn't realized I'd moved it all the way over and the entire population packed up and left. Oops. Anyway, the game hung there for several minutes.

So, there should probably be an upper limit to the population (and it would be nice if you could decide where it comes from).

It'd also be nice if you could decide how many colonists you want to send if you colonize a planet in-system. It's kind of annoying when you have a size 27 colonized and a size 26 you want to colonize, and the game autodrops enough to permadrop your morale on that planet to 1. It seems kind of inefficient.

A few pages back I posted that my cursor was erratic since I installed the patch. That was with a game that was started pre-patch. Since then I've started a new game and that problem seems to be gone now.

Bad crash tonight. I had just finished a wild series of battles with virtually all the races allied against the Drengin when the game crashed back to desktop. I tried loading the autosave, but all I got was the GUI: it even had "Test" in place of graphics! Very odd. I loaded an earlier autosave and it seemed OK but I didn't have time to play through and see if it is corrupt.

Using more than one battle transporter to invade a planet takes people from several transperters for the attacking force, as it should. Whatever number of attackers are left make the new population, as it should. However, on ONE battle transport is used up, and the remaining transports have ALL of their people left over.

Example:
2 Battle transports = 10 Billion People
Attack planet = 10 Billion attackers
Due to advantage, only lose 3 Billion attackers
Planet population = 6 Billion, 1 remaining transporter has 5 Billion

I knew baby booms occured during war situations, but this is a little much!

You only start out with 1 trade route.

Jeff, if you have a smart exception report for that crash, can you please e-mail it to me at [email protected]?

A small spelling error : the technology that should've been shown as "Ultra Computers" is shown as "Ultra Compuers"

As previously mentioned, the speed ability does not work. Neither does the social or military production abilities. You don't get increased capacity. You don't get more shields, even though you increase spending to 100% at set social or military production to full.

One of my colonies rebelled, wanting to be more like the Torians, leaving me with 2 colonies. My stats screen however still reported having 3 colonies. Not sure if this has been reported since there are so many posts and I've got a 56K line and no time. ;)

I must say that I'm bit dissapointed. After hearing for days about how great this game is, I finally got a chance to try it - and can't even get it to work: my computer utterly hangs a few seconds after I click on 'play game'; it plays a random amount of the intro (1 to 5 seconds), but always hangs (utterly - always have to reboot) sooner or later... :notsure:

I tried to use the Smart Exception, but it didn't record anything. Here's the bottom part of the debug.err:
Debug Message: Initializing sound card.
Debug Message: Game Initialization completed.
Debug Message: Creating cutscene window.
Debug Message: Creating soundtrack handler.
Debug Message: Creating movie handler.
Debug Message: Create setup screens.
Debug Message: Creating opening menu.
Debug Message: MemMan: Unable to find pointer in GetBlockInfo. Memory system: DataMan

Debug Message: MemMan: Trying to free memory that has not been allocated. Memory System DataMan
ASSERT ERROR in file G:\PROJECTS\pear\SOURCE\MEMMAN.CPP at line 361.
Debug Message: Creating player setup screen.
Debug Message: Creating race setup screen.
Debug Message: Initialize Game Options.

Debug Message: Set update timer.
Debug Message: Begin playing intro movie.
Debug Message: Preparing to change display settings.
Debug Message: RGB in format 5:6:5, Masks reported as f800:7e0:1f

...and that's it. Nothing after that.

The windowed version doesn't work either - quits with a page fault almost instantly. Here's what Smart Exception says about it:

I have all the newest drivers installed, etc. - and don't usually have problems with games (99% of the games that I've bought within last year have worked perfectly - with the exception of Freedom Force, which had similar problem: hanged at startup; I never was able to find a fix for that...)

I haven't checked through the entire list of bugs, but I noticed that when a Colony ship reaches a planet, you can Colonize a different planet by switching to that planet's view. This happened on 1.01; I haven't tried on 1.01a.

Not sure if it was mentionned yet :

I was only missing Final Frontier in the tech tree and in the menu screen my tech victory was at ... 104 %.

I've made a list of crashreports in the 'Crashreport for Frogboy' thread.

I didn't have these crashes with previous versions and they all happen at the same time (when I press 'leave' on a diplo screen).

After destroying the Arcaen homeworld of Dester with a Terror Star I was notified a few turns later that a new independent race sprung up on the world of Dester.

In the Governor screen, the "delete item" click does not recognize
the scroll position.

Reproduction:
1. Have more than 20 items in the build list for the Governor.
2. Scroll down so you see the bottom of the list, and not the top.
3. Double click on the last item in the list.
Bug: The last item is not deleted. A different item up the list is
deleted. It is the item that would have been clicked if the list
was not scrolled down.

No idea if this is actually untentional, but you are able to rename ships belonging to enemy empires. (haven't tried with anything else)

This just feels wrong to me.

Also, do the computer players ever use non-default ship names?

This is cosmetic, I know. :P
The new Speed bonus doesn't give you the extra move on the first turn. For example, if you have an increased speed of 3 on your Colony Ship, you still only get the normal 2 on the first turn.

Regarding trade goods-

I know this has been mentioned a few times, but I think someone asked for some specific situations. (I was using the most recent version of the game when both of these situations happened)

One of the other races built Tri-Strontium Steel, and then a while later another did, and then another. I was only in contact with one race, and it wasn't one of the three races that built that item, though I don't know if that means anything. Also, in another game I built Diplomatic Translators and then a few turns later a race that I hadn't encountered built them.

2 UP issues (1.01a):

1) A UP resolution passed that required everyone to return to Imperial gov't. Elections were still held periodically.

2) A UP resolution passed to tax the largest economy (Terran) 5% but I wound up getting tribute $$ instead of paying it out. Another issue is that I doubt I had the largest economy; maybe it meant to say someone else but printed Terran on the screen.
