Microsoft Acquires Mozilla FireFox!

Microsoft Acquires Mozilla FireFox!

http://msfirefox.com/
I wasn't to sure I saw things correctly when I went to the FireFox homepage to download FireFox 2 onto my notebook.

But much to my surprise, I wound up at the MS FireFox home page!

I have not heard of anything about this, and it took me quite by surprise. Did any of you guys hear of anything like this happening?

How do you feel about Microsoft's acquisition of FireFox?

Well most Linux users hate Windows and MS.

Well ain't this just a perfect world....we got Linuxers hating MSers & Macers....we got Macers hating MSers & Linuxers....we got MSer's hating Linuxers & Os-Xers.....

Oh bugger it, let's have a 'small minded' all in brawl to decide who's best....last man standing wins.

Yeah, the companies wheel n' deal to compete....but it's the one eyed, small minded twit fanbois who make this OS wars thing such a farcical (idiotic) affair. In some respects, this takes me back to kindy: "My dad's bigger than your dad!"

At least back then there was flesh n' blood evidence to back up or disprove the claims, but Oses/software are a bunch of dots, zeros and ones that, when loaded into various assemblages of electronic gear, will work differently for different people, alternate uses, so what sense does it make to get up on the fence at daybreak and crow to the world about OS preferences/what works best for you....

I mean, some people use Kleenex, some Wondersoft, and others just tear up strips of newspaper: some prefer the roll end to the front while others like it facing the wall...then some fold while others scrunch, but you never see those preferences being adveritised, bandied about all over the net....peoples hiney wiping preferences, that is. So what is it that brings out the childishness/bickering when it comes to OSes/computers?

There must be more to life than OS arguments....think I'll go check out some recipe books to see who claims to have the best curried cabbage.

M$ can't own Linux... it's a different freebees piled as an OS and called Linux... If M$ DOES own Linux, I'm shocked, but trust be, I'm not shocked.

Ditching SuSE cause they joined forces with MS is small minded in the xtreme how pathetic

Ding Ding....GOLD STAR!

I think it's pretty stupid to hate a person because of the OS they end-use.

If M$ DOES own Linux, I'm shocked, but trust be, I'm not shocked.

No, it's just like you say Enigma, MS can never truly own Linux, however they can put their own distro together.

Just to note, remember who Bill gates was working for when DOS was developed, just before he broke away to develop MSDOS in his new company Microsoft?

IBM, a blue-chip stock and one of the pioneers of computing technology.

I don't think that FireFox will ever want to collaborate or merge in with Microsoft. Not a smart thing to do.

I don't know which is funnier, the web page or the fact some people think its for real...

It's reminiscent of the time when some twit suggested the FBI & CIA owned Google....

Or when it was suggested our esteemed Mr Wardell had installed political filters into the Stardock mainframe.

Okay, so he has Joe User/WC surveilance cameras installed on several of NASA's weather satellites ....but political filters, I'm finding that a tad hard to believe.

Not that I think this would happen, but I ask you: Why do you think it is not smart?

Ah to be so plugged into the counter-culture of subversion to refer to Microsoft as 'M$'....

So cutting edge....such acerbic wit....

Maybe if MS did own Linux it'd actually become mainstream enough to be usable.  Not everyone looks good in a propeller hat, you know...
