Microsoft Acquires Mozilla FireFox!

http://msfirefox.com/
I wasn't to sure I saw things correctly when I went to the FireFox homepage to download FireFox 2 onto my notebook.

But much to my surprise, I wound up at the MS FireFox home page!

I have not heard of anything about this, and it took me quite by surprise. Did any of you guys hear of anything like this happening?

How do you feel about Microsoft's acquisition of FireFox?

That's certainly one of the more original jockes I have come across lately. Hehe
I especially liked the bit about security:

"3rd Party Opt-in
Disables nearly all pre-installed non-Microsoft software to prevent potentially vulnerable controls from being exposed to attack. You can easily enable or disable required programs as needed through the Add-on Manager by using any valid credit card."

So where do I go to get this on? Oh, and does it come with virtual REALITY features so I'd feel like I'm REALLY enjoying it?

Oh goody, first I'm gonna be real good, tha get the 'pressies'....then I'm gonna be real, real bad so I can go across her knee.

Maybe not...YET, but you'd be surprised at just how much MS actually owns and markets under alternate labels/brand names.....deeper investigation into components and software can often reveal Microsoft is the 'parent' company/manufacturer.

MS will never own Linux. You can't own something that is free and is not owned by anyone.

One of these days you all will open your eyes...

well no, MS can't own Linux, but it can package a distro like so many others, and sell it.

You need to open your eyes my friend. SuSE is currently sleeping with MicroSoft. The news I here is together, they are speculating on developing a hybrid Linux/Windows distribution.

Ain't that an eye opener?

That's f**king sick. Of course Bill's always late, the Mac boys got there first, just as Steve did the first time, well... when he 'jacked Xerox.

Ain't that an eye opener?

Here's another one for ya, only it does the penguin a big favor in the fight against Microsoft. Xandros

Gee, I wonder what MS SuSE will do to the Mac OS? That will be interesting. I think it's interesting enough booting the Mac OS to current many Windows boxes. Link

I suppose you never heard of "The Great Wall of China"?

Anyway, nobody really "needs" anybody, but I suppose when you hold a majority of the market share by a LONGSHOT....well you draw your own conclusions

Not true. I hang out at Linux forums most of the day these days and everybody is pretty much ditching SuSE becuse of what they did. I dig up some links for you later. The story is suppossed to be that Novell did this to keep MS from sueing them over what MS claims, MS claims that the Linux kernel uses some form of MS code.

So anyhow talk to you later.

Making windows and linux more compatible is a good thing and bout time

Ditching SuSE cause they joined forces with MS is small minded in the xtreme how pathetic

Well most Linux users hate Windows and MS.
