I don't really remember, but I think I read about the original OS/2 version in an in company VM net OS/2 forum in the 1993-1994 time frame. When I finally had to give up OS/2, I was subscribing to the Stardock magazine, and followed every mention of the windows version.

Wow. Lot of MOO3 forum users.

GalCiv was originally "born" on comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.strategic. I've been one of the regulars on there since '93. And we were talking about how annoying it was when you'd have a computer player beaten how it wouldn't grovel when you talked to it in diplomacy. I'd have a computer player down to its last city, surrounded by tanks, would open up diplomacy and it would say "Your civilization makes me laugh..". No dammit, grovel! Acknowledge I'm winning.

Player of GalCiv since I got the original OS/2 version (on floppy disks, yet!) in 1995; originally saw it in an Egghead store (anyone remember Egghead?)

Ya Frogboy, me too. I hate stupid AI like that. It kills a game. As a fiction writer we have the power to make the pay off sweat. It suprises me that game writers miss such an easy way to make there games more fun. (Fun=marketable too.)

Glad I started it. Looks like a game I didn't even knew existed a week ago is going to be keeping me up past my bed time for quite a while. :d
