AVG is also offering a free trial of their new anti-spyware app, which marries in well with the free AV.

Its a separate download, and is good for 30days, I think. It includes all updates till the end of the trial, and is very regularly updated.

Both apps are available at Grisoft website

I was contemplating whether this would be the 'longest' membership ever....#9 was less than 2 hours from joining.

Generally on Wincustomize.com people will not look too kindly on bittorrent/warez use, as Wincustomize is hosted/funded/owned by a Software Company  [Stardock] which is often the VICTIM of this warez use.

If it [warez use] takes from the company's commercial viability it threatens their livelihood and that of this site and its community.

Just a friendly reminder....

I use BitDefender 8 the free version. AVG just didn't catch everything. I had AVG on my PC then the trial ran out (I have Windows XP 64-bit and the AVG free version does not work), so I tried BitDefender and it found viruses stashed in my restore points. I recommend BitDefender WWW Link now to all...

Both AVG and Avast are good to use. I recommend to switch between avg and avast every now and then. Even antivirus software you buy will miss viruses. So don't rely on just one. Never use two at one time.
Right now I'm trying windows live one and it seem to be doing a good gob.

yes, AVG is quite weak. I've seen it thwarted many times. For free, I recommend Avast (haven't trying Bitdefender). For pay, I recommend NOD32...bar none.

With the most recent updated program for AVG free...
It has to be one of the best free anti-virus programs around.

Kaspersky was rated the highest in a recent test. Caught the most viruses out there. AOLs free anti virus software is actually using Kaspersky. As much as I hate to recommend anything from AOL it is free.
