installing my vista screensaver?

could neone tell me how to install my screen saver, i downloaded the vista screensaver w/ the 4 different ones, but how do i install it? when i double click the file it just goes to the screen saver to where all it does is play the screensaver but its not like apply-able? could anyone help me out so i can pick that screensaver on my desktop properties. ANY help is greatly apppreciated.

Just drag the .scr file to: C:\WINDOWS\system32

Make sure it's a legit screensaver, and not one of those virus-laden programs.

Vista screensaver? is it made for Vista, or is it made to resemble the screensavers that comes with Vista?

You have to rename the file before you extract it to windows 32 [ IE. windowsvistaprofessionalblack.scr has to be renamed to sswindowsvistaprofessionalblack.scr]just right click on each of the 3 files and click rename.Then click your right arrow key so you don't have to rewrite the file name,then hit the left arrow and and go to beginning of the file name and type ss  Then just extract the file to c:\WINDOWS\system32 enjoy they are nice ss

hm... why the ss prefix? never seen or ecountered that as an requirement for screensavers.

I have not either thomassen   but with that peticular SSaver it seems to be the only way for it to show up in properties/screensavers and work  Normally same as you i just extract to WINDOWS\system32 and no problems  All i know is for that one it works that's why i suggested it
