The Rally Point System Rocks!

A positive comment!

Well, I figured out how to use the rally points and mix it with the governors for changing production and rally points and WOW, very, very nice. It totally changed how I deploy ships for the better. Very, very cool system. Very well done.

Just wait till you get into a gigantic galaxy in late game...you dont even tough ships at that point, you just place rally points and manage them in governors.

Saved a few of of us from an early death by frustration glad they're working well for ya!

Yesterday i crazily enough started a gigantic universe game. I had a bunch of planets building my patented V-Wing design Anyway, i would have liked to have all those V-Wings automaticly launch upon completion and go to a certain rally point, but i coudnt figure out how to do that. In the menu with governors i could see having all planets producing them switch to something else, and all fleets currently en route to rally point tjhis go elsewhere, but not what i want

is it possible? (if so how?)

Every planet has a 'set rally point' button in the same place the fleets do, when you select it on the global map, in the bottom.. left/middle area. All produced ships will be launched automatically with that set.

Then there's a governor to "Change all planets with rally points of X to Y", for when you want to change it en-masse.

Here's my question - what do you have to do to send a whole stack of fleets to a rally point at the same time? I'd like to be able to do that, but can't figure it out.

Oh yea, they rock. I had a ralley point called "Operation Yellow" which I sent my transports to to prepar my invasion of the Arceans and had another one called "Altarian Prophecy" on the other side of the galaxy for an attack on them. Once both were wiped out only the Drengin survived. I created a new ralley point called "Die Drengin Die". Then I went into the governor and reset all ships going to the previous 2 ralley's to divert to the new one. So in one fell swoop I had dozens of ships change direction to the Drengin border without me having to touch a single one.

This to me is my favorite feature of the game.

bonscott; thanks for THAT tip. i will truly utilize that one in my future games. although the micromanagement is not annoying, that will be nice to shuttle stacks of attack vehicles to a set location. thanks. ;;cheers;;

It does look usefull, i have figured out a lot, but how to actualy place the points remains uknown to me.

I know know that it is a ui button, but the pic of the ui in the manual is very low res. So i can not see exactly where it is.

Can you issue stacking commands like say,

I want that rally point to have 2 fighters 1 frigate and 1 cruiser, and spawn multiple points of them?

I'd love to send a rally fleet command on the map. That would be so useful, have a set configured fleet assemble at a rally point prior to attack LOL! Combined arms anyone. Once that spawn point as ships allocated to it and have arrived they auto form a fleet and switch all other ships to rally automatically to the next closest fleet rally point. Actually I'd like them to have a bit of intelligence and know what ships are heading to the rally point. If those ships enroute will form that required fleet, then send the others immediately upon construction to the next rally point. That way you save ships having to double back on themselves since to many ships were sent to the same fleet rally point.

Hehehe I'm a evil genius, imagine setting up an 8 ship fleet with 4 frigates 2 cruisers 1 transport and a Battleship ready to attack the Torian's Homeworld LOL!

I hate them space slugs!
