Hi Moosey. DA seems to be a very good improvement on the original even with most of the settings not finalised. Even the race logo now appearing on your ships would have been enough for me to buy it though

Will try to post a few screenies of it in action over at the Core later today/tomorrow. Main pc is not in use at moment as the desk is receiving a nice new paint job and probably wont be fully dried until Monday night. SO at present the pc is taking pride of place on the floor!!

How do I get DA beta?

You need to pre-order the expansion. Once yo have done that you should receive an email with your serial no. Enter that serial no into the relevant section in SDC and you can download the beta.

I'm not sure if you will be able to get the beta straight away or you may have to wait for the next induction of subscribers. Maybe Kryo can clear that one up for you??

Bah, I found how to get it. Seawater has clogged the noodle a bit. I registered it from the e-mailed SN and now it is d/ling. Going to take forever at 5KB/sec. Is the beta a stand alone? Will I still be able to play GCII and post games or will DA overwrite GCII. I archived just in case.

DA is stand alone but uses cetain files from the main GCII game. Custom insignias and portraits will need to be copied to the new files too. Dont try to import old custom races into the new beta as there is a lot moe choices now

Good ,just put another 7K through.Its getting easier as it gets harder if you know what I mean.Rank 476 now I think! Must get off the beginner average thing...so just started my first challenging ,medium with 7 other races.Anything could happen.

I am not liking 1.4. Changes are minor enough but still...

I don't like it much either, FC. Need to rethink the starting abilities so that one can colonize the demented planents. The AI swoop in and gobble them all up before I can even research the appropriate tech.

I am playing my second game at 1.4.
Can't say I have noticed much difference, but then, I only play at crippling level.

It may be that I just got a bad start. i am way behind where I usually am at this point in the game but as soon as the Drath fall I will have enough planets to carry out the win. Guess I'll just have to play another

9K+ on that challenging game.6hrs total.

Hi, its been quite awhile since I posted here. I'm just about done with a game using 1.4. After I finish it, I'll give a DA a try.

I would love to give DA a try.
Unfortunately, I cannot down load it and they will not send me a CD until the final version.
They have taken my money though.

Almost done with the first 1.4. i have rathre high expectations about the score. We shall see though.
