Good morning diplomats.

Teasing the poor guy who lives in the land of sprouts, bean curd and tofu....
so Purge, where physically is that located? I want to know so I can avoid it

land of sprouts, bean curd and tofu

Hmm, Japan? China?

The San Francisco bay area. There are some truly excellent restaurants around, especially of the ethnic variety (Italian, Thai, Mexican, Indian, etc.) but don't go looking for a steak house. The steak houses are generally not very good and are overpriced.

No medals showing ?

Or is just me that can't see them ?

They are back

They are back

Forgot to put the glasses on at first, dear Vulcan?

I find that the medals take up to 5 or 10 seconds to appear after the posts appear.
More like 3-5 seconds for me, but still the same thing.

More like 3-5 seconds for me, but still the same thing.

This is directly related to the performance of your PC's although how much of this is related to video vs. cpu performance is unclear.

In my last Metaverse game I scored 155500 on level Masochistic, a gigantic map with 286 planets, and completed in late Dec. 2228 (rounded down to 3 years).

In my current game I'm playing my first Suicide game with scatters vs. tight clusters resulting in 476 planets! With an extra 190 planets, instead of the colonization phase ending in the first year, the last distant planet was colonized by me in Aug. 2226, giving me 53 planets (51 colonized and 2 culture flipped). By this point the Arceans make demands from me (due to my lack of a military) which I refused. I have 4X times the population of an AI (thanks to 100% morale for the first 8 months + 70% pop. growth bonus + trade goods), plus I'm the production and research leader due to good planet build up and choosing neutrality for the NLC.
It was time to switch my focus to the weapons branch (choosing beam since everyone else choose guns and missile so most were researching armor). On Jan. 8 2227 the Yor declare war on the Altarians; the Yors' missile tech is superior to the Altarians' guns but the Altarians have more planets and a superior economy. On Jan. 22, 2227 I take out the only minor. On Feb. 8, 2227 I launch my invasion against the Korx with 2 fleets each with 9 advanced medium hull ships. Waiting along the border are over 30 fast troop transports, each with 3 billion troops; I have researched all the techs to boost my soldiering and have built the training center too.
Normally in my games I launch the first war in early 2226 but in this game the extended colonization phase plus building up my many resources starbases delayed the start of the conquer phase. Since I choose very fast research, even in my short games, I complete the tech tree before the end of the game. So in this game I’m only building NLCs on research bonus squares, my tech capital world, and worlds with rings which give a 10% research bonus. Instead of splitting my non-specialized high PQ planets between factories and NLCs, I’m splitting them between factories and stock markets (I’m playing v1.2 so they also give a 10% morale boost so I don’t need an entertainment center if I have at least 7 stock markets). My low-mid PQ planets (I don’t have any below 10 yet) I have set to focus on factories. I hope to exceed 200000 in this game!!!

Does anyone know if the spy issue in DA has beeen rectified? The one i am talking about is the load save game and then cant use spies bug.

If it has then i will start a new game as a MV game instead of a standard sandbox one.

It should be, but AFAIK metaverse posting still isn't supported right now.

I have added to my list of things to do in my first 3M-A game to get 4 economy SB's in each sector I control with as much overlap as possible to adjoining sectors' planets. This, combined with the fact that I really waited too long to build farms and VR centers in my latest v1.4 game, has really slowed the progression of the game with all of the micromanagement inherent with all these SB's (scattered gigantic and I have 130+ planets after the rush)!

I was hoping to have this game submitted this weekend, but it now looks like next weekend at best.

I'll be sure to post an AAR at The Core when finished.

Good Evening members of the Galactic Diplomats! I wanted to extend my thanks to Fuels Chief for his kind remarks to me as a member of the HCH.Friendly competition is good for the entire metaverse. I am beginning to get the hang of a few things and am really enjoying Gal Civ 2. May the Metaverse prosper!

Yeah, if I could just get the system to recognize my registration. Stardock "sent" me a file that was supposed manually fix the problem, but they forgot to attached it to the email. I asked them to send it again this last Thursday, but it has not arrived yet. The elves must be busy with Christmas.

Hi all. Submitted my first points for the Diplomats.

74,750 A Personal best.

Could of been higher, but between playing on tough and not getting everything maxed properly, not bad. First time I think I played a gigantic all the way through. They can wear on you after a while. I learned a lot about organizing my game though. Think I can get comparable scores on a little higher difficulty with large or huge maps. It will be awhile before trying another gigantic.
