Hello, I have gotten stuck in a quest. Explanation will not refer to quest specifics to avoid spoilers.

I had my ship completely full of cargo when I landed on Delta Horos II, so my lander was not picking up any more resources. 

Then I interacted with the unidentified object and I was asked to kill a critter on the planet. I did and it dropped some meat, which I was unable to pick up. When I returned to the interactable, the quest did not progress and the NPC's simply reiterated that I need to kill the critter.

So I left the planet, went and emptied my cargo and came back. But now the critter and the dropped meat is gone and the NPC's still tell me to kill the critter, and I cannot progress the quest anymore.

Unfortunately I cannot revert to an older save as I do not have any saves from before accepting the quest/killing the critter. 

What can I do resolve this situation.
