I agree with you Poet. As the younger generation gets older, more involved. I think there will be colossal shifts. The younger generation is not as "freaked" by the thought of gay people. They are more apt to let it go by without a second look. I'm certainly not saying we should force the beliefs of any group down anyone throat. But then, that street moves two ways. Live and let live. Thanks for the comments everyone. Nice to know I'm not alone in thinking people should hav

http://apnews.myway.com//article/20040204/D80GI6504.html I know I've already posted today. But, then I read some headlines, and this one popped out at me. Mass. High Court Rules for Gay Marriage I think it's about time. I'm not gay. But I know a couple people who are. We've never really talked about those things. I always thought "Love is love." Why shouldn't you be allowed to marry the one you love? I know that in some states, the church has a strong hold on the lawmak

Winter Blahs...Yikes Thankfully, this week, Mother Nature has let off on the sub-zero temps. It's around 30 outside right now. And that feels like a heat wave after the minus degrees we had. We got a crap load of sn

(also posted in forums about Janet) I don't know about you, but this year's halftime show really bit. If it sucked, it would've felt good. MTV should NEVER be in charge of anything for the general public viewing audience. The Janet thing. I really can't believe she did that. I know she's been getting racier as she's progressed in her career. But this is a stunt we'd expect to see Madonna pull. Janet's always been flirting with the edge of "naughty". I always thought her to have a cl

It's a rare occasion when I don't have to DJ on Friday night. I like it. Sorta like a mini break. I get right back into again on Saturday. I don't mind really. The step kids are here and the one likes to bug me. So, I went to the video store. Rented Sex & The City season 2. No order on this really. I just hadn't seen much of the show, so I know there are tons of episodes for me to watch. I may eventually buy it. It's a fun watch. I also rented The Outsiders. I still favor t

I got home a while ago. I sat down and proceeded to watch tonight's Angel episode. OMG! I laughed like crazy when Andrew appeared and saw Spike. I have to go back and watch it again, cause I missed whatever was said. Sometimes, I'm too easily amused. Snow. Today. Tomorrow. Friday. And just for a change. Snow on Saturday. That's the forcast my friends. Lots of freakin' snow. Wee. If I skied or snowmobiled, I would more than likely be thrilled by the forecast. I don't do eith

Ah, it's almost February. Not that I couldn't have known this looking at a calendar. No. The awards show season has started. And. All my favorite shows are saving their whammy episodes for the sweeps weeks. Yes. Feb is good for more than just Valentines and Presidents days. It also holds Ash Wednesday. But I haven't paid attention to my catholic upbringing since I was old enough to think for myself. If you're Catholic, I'm not slamming you. Believe whatever you like. Please. Just don't be y

We need to scrap the whole government and start over. Right from the beginning. Ain't gonna happen. But I can dream. Sad about Africa. One would think we could find some way of sending it over there. Or one of the other countries in the world would pick up the slack. Why do we seem to be the only ones doing anything?

Another good luck thrown to you. I know it's hard. Done it myself once or twice or thrice...:) I currently smoke. There are times when I think about quitting. Again. You're very brave.

Sounds like you've had a rough morning! You could always look at different travel sites and do a bit of dream planning. I did some last night. It didn't make the snow and cold go anywhere outside, but I definately felt a little warmer looking at the pictures of the beaches. It looked so good, I've honestly started to plan how I could take a cruise next year during this time of year. Bahamas....mmmmmm. Ali The Misfit Chick

:: grins a bit:: So now the opposite gender is starting to figure out what we already knew? Amen. You're correct in saying "some" . Others, like yourself, still know how to treat a lady. Your gal pal Amanda sounds like fun. I wonder if she realizes just how special you are? About Jim. Someday, his little stunts will come back and bite him in the butt. Either in a string of really bad luck, or lack of dates. And when he asks

Bravo for you! I know you didn't do it, or tell us to get the praise. You need a Bravo anyway. I always try to help. Granted I have different concerns when it comes to stopping and helping. But I do it anyway. A couple weeks ago, I was coming home from one of my DJ jobs, saw a guy walking. I stopped, offered a ride (which he gladly accepted, it was cold!). Turns out, he had just moved here, was coming home from work and lived on my street...at least for the next week. H

Wee and fun. I went grocery shopping. Also, paid the roadrunner bill. Actually. I put the envelope in the deposit slot. Too long of a line. One would think that on Friday, they would attempt to have two tellers. Nope. Just the one. Normally, I'm alone, and I don't mind waiting. I like to have the receipt in my hand. I know then that it is truly paid. But today, the boyfriend was with me, and he doesn't deal well with waiting. Grocery shopping with the boyfriend is always a bit maddeni

I also recall Captain Kangeroo fondly. Can't remember alot of the names that were the characters. Old age has erased that info. :) But one thing I do remember was sitting in front of the TV and giggling like mad when the ping pong balls would fall down on them. Goodbye Captain. Thanks for the entertainment.

Aww. That does suck. Sorry. I've only ever bought blankets, sheets and DVD's from them. I just like how quick they are in getting it to you. Have a great day Ali

All I can say is this. If we don't like him. Don't vote for him. Not that there's a better man out there. We need to start over. Thomas Jefferson once stated, (And I'm going to mess this quote up a bit) "In order to keep the government in line, the people need to have a revolution every 200 years." It's not exact. But it's close. Mr. Jefferson was eloquent, and correct.

I'm not politcal really. One guy is just as bad as the other. I never really heard Gephardt's name really. I heard about Dean and Kerry. Briefly, Carol Mosely Braun. When she dropped out, and threw her support to Dean. It seems to me, whoever has the money, wins. Not good.

My mother passed away in 1989. Almost 15 years now. She died of AIDS. Given to her by her second husband. Funny. I always feel the need to relate how she got it. Sometimes, I want to say "Why does it matter how. She's gone." But I never do. Somehow, that would tarnish her. And she was beautiful. I sometimes run into people who knew her. I look like her. From a distance, I'll hear her name. Then someone touches my shoulder, and they realize it's me. They ask abou

Bravo. That needed to be said. I agree with you. Sometimes, I'm amazed at what passes for a discussion. I have but one question. Does it bother you when some people just offer their two cents, not really trying to make a point, but just offering their opinion. I'm one of those. Sometimes, I just say my peace and back away slowly. :)

I'm with you on the other thing, Lunaticus. When the roads are clear. I'm a little speed demon. And "Sunday Drivers" on Tuesday, do not amuse me either. Usually, it's an older couple with a really nice car, and they never use it's full potential. Very very sad.
