I'm pretty sure the random events are much better the lower the difficulty level. I noticed the amount of cash I got from random events dropped dramatically when I switched from beginner to normal.

the middle mouse button is used to rotate everything in the game, from the map, to the ship design screen, even to the little planets in the corner of your colony screen. Basically, if it's 3d, it can be rotated with the middle mouse button. cheers.
Yup, that's likely how they're so much farther ahead. They're trading with each other. So while you were prob stuck researching everything you've got, the AI researched different things from each other and shared. Like yellow sign aptly points out, you should be trading tech too
Well, remember the higher your population, the higher your tax revenue, so it's not entirely bad that they're getting frisky. You need them to in order to get money to run your factories / labs. If you don't add farms to a planet, your population is capped by your food source, so it'll stop growing when you hit that limit. To improve your happiness, lower taxes, or build morale boosting improvements on worlds that are giving you problems. cheers
I think if you go into /my documents/my games/galciv2 folder and delete the preferences file (prefs.ini?), it will reset everything to the state it was when you first installed the game. It might be in a subfolder, poke around. If you understood the above, try playing around with that. (if you didn't you're better off not messing with it ) Someone please feel free to correct me. <img src="h
nope, not me some might recognize me from the scripting/modding scene of X2 / X3, but I never touched Moo3. some of those user created mods almost made the game playable though, a lot of really fine community work went into moo3, hopefully this game may spawn some of that involvement. I recognize what you're saying about the DEA system of moo3, and I agree with your assessment t
This game is really really great. I've just finished playing through a 7 hr game (my first). I'll try to give a quick unbiased review here with just some highlights: Yes, there are currently a few rough spots. However, I encountered no bugs that couldn't be worked around easily or solved with a simple save / reload. I have no doubt that Brad and team will fix these as efficiently and trasparently as they do everything else. Given the fact that the last patch f
I'm not sure if this is a bug, but in the course of playing one game, I obseleted a few of the core ship designs. The next game I started, they were still gone from the shiplist, with no visible way of bringing them back. So basically, I don't have any premade ships with basic equipment for the next game start. I should've never obseleted them, as it appears that they are gone for good. Shiplists carry over between games. Would love to know how to bring the default designs b
It costs 50. Let me explain what I know and then aska few questions myself at the end. Here's how the equations work: Your spend rate for either military, social, or research is determined by the following equation: Max Capacity x Total Spend Rate x Spend Distribution So if you're set to 100% spend rate, and you have research set to 100% in the distribution, the equation is: 50 tp capacity x 1.0 x 1.0 = 50 bc Here's what
Hello, Version: Movies 1.0.013 2/14/2006 (retail preload) Location: GalCiv2\Movies Filenames: 7_trade01.bik, 7_trade02.bik Description: It appears the general naming convention for the trade movies are: trade00 - neutral trade01 - unhappy trade02 - happy It appears that the files for race 7 are misnamed. trade01 shows the alien smiling and happy, trade02 shows him unhappy. Concern is that the happy gfx will show in game when t
