I sincerely hope that luck isn't a factor. [e digicons][/e]

"Work" is a four-letter word.
I always kind of thought "Androsynth" would be a great name for an 80s New Wave synth-pop band...
Yeah... I kinna wish we'd gotten to at least see them, like we see the other races on the chat window.
That's almost certainly a yes. [e digicons][/e]
They were never really a huge part of the plot in SC2, were they. I'm trying to remember whether we ever even interacted with them at all... I admit, I'm curious to know more.
As a classic gamer, I'm holding out for the Atari 2600 version. Also, when I read this thread's title, I totally thought it said "PSA", and I was wondering what the announcement was.
Then this makes me glad I'm in PST; I'll be getting it earlier in my day than the rest of you lot. Less waiting. ;)
At one point, the commander of the human starbase tells you that X many of his crew have died on your ship ... I've always wondered whether the game actually kept track of lost crew units or whether this was triggered by game progression and the numbers were arbitrary
He very specifically says a thousand, actually.
Turns out, exploration for the sake of exploration gets pretty old pretty fast.
Speaking as an old-school, die hard, SC2 nut, I have to say... nuh-uh! You spend the vast, vast majority of your time on planets in SC2, and it never got boring. Even though the maps were simplistic and there was really nothing more than resources to collect, dangers to avoid, and silly creatures to shoot or dodge, there was just something to it. The
THe only thing wrong with this trailer: the gameplay footage wasn't made by me.
Seems like everywhere we look we find the ingredients of life.
Garlic, butter, a little oregano...
What was "Sol" before you renamed it? [e digicons][/e]
Well, as a long, long time Tron fan, I saw that and was like, "I know that name. I know I know that name." You sure it wasn't an easter egg the first time 'round?
Okay, another question: is the star map 3D? I'm looking, and some of those stars seem like they're right on top of each other, almost like they're in front of or behind others. Now, making the map 3D seems like a logical next step from the 2D map of SC2, and I think it's awesome if you've done it...but I obviously can't tell from that static, 2D image.
Wait a minute, wait a minute... "Alan Bradley"...? Dude...that's TRON. That's the guy who programmed Tron. You sly, amazing, Easter-Egging people! [e digicons][/e]
So, I'm looking at that star map, and it reminded me of something... In the Chapter One beta, it was possible to get a list of what I suspect was every star in the game; you couldn't see a map, but there was a text list. And Zeta Reticuli was not on there. I was very disappointed. [e digicons]XO[/e]
Well...I suppose an Honorable Mention is something, anyway.
Only an 'Honorable Mention"...? Awwww. [e digicons]:'([/e]
But will the game come with a free souvenir mug?
Doing that requires ritual sacrifice. You do have an altar and peasants available, right?
Well, it's not first-person, for one thing. As for the rest, I have to guess--since I'm not part of Stardock--but based on how similar this seems to SC2 (which came out way before NMS), I think these won't be way far off: It has a well-defined story, unlike NMS. Interactions with aliens won't be so stupidly generic; they'll actually speak to you like you're having a real conversation. Those interactions will lead to story-changes.</
However it's handled, if the option to waterski isn't there, I'll be very disappointed.
Heh. I remember that, a while back, there was a game coming out (I think it might have been "Spore") and I ordered the box version...and the box arrived with no disc, just a code for downloading it online. I was understandably grumpy. I miss when games came with stuff. SC2 came with a fold-out map of the game's galaxy. I still have the cloth maps--yes, cloth! --that came with Ultima 5 and 6, and one of them (I think it was 5) came with
