I like this news. And I'm going to be playing this game, cute or not; nearly everything I've seen, I like...and for nearly everything I don't like, I'm told that the improvement I expect is coming, or that my interpretation was incorrect and what I was hoping for is actually in there already. Hurry up and finish this bloody game already! I wanna play! :)
I think the biggest stand out will be just how alive the universe is.
You say this, and it makes me very eager to play the game...yet I find I'd like a bit more of a nuanced description, if only to keep my expectations realistic. (I mean, we all remember the anticipation of how frickin' awesome No Man's Sky was supposed to be...and then...) So what makes it so ali
Also, I don't mind the landing mini game, but I wish you could land anywhere on the planet instead of the fixed spot the game assigns automatically.
QFT. Totally my objection as well.
I just now realized what bothered me with the Tywom alien model and why it feels too familiar and Pixar-y. The eyeballs. I think it would be better lore-wise if it had unconventional less-cartoony eyeballs. A feline-e
I like you. You tell me such nice things. :)
- I would really like to be able to scale X, Y, and Z axes separately, to be able to make something thicker or narrower without also making it taller, and so on. - I would like X, Y, and Z indicators that show which was is forward, at the very least. I have only done it occasionally, but sometimes I've got a ship pointed in the wrong direction and it flies backward in the Fleet Battles. (I'd probably rotated the view, decided I didn't like what I had, deleted everything, started with
Is the current ship-crafting arsenal final? It seems like a lot of weapons at first, but after making a dozen or two ships, I'm finding the useful combinations kind of limited; every weapon has its pluses and minuses, but putting them together in a single ship can be a bit iffy sometimes. I mean, it seems like there are quite a few different methods of making the other side dead, but not all of them go together particularly well. And I can't help but not

I doubt it so much, but...I wonder whether I still have my SC2 map somewhere. I know I had it for a very long time...but a lot of stuff got lost the last time I moved. Now I have to go look.
I don't know what-in-Hades is going on with my engines, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be... I mean, that red trail should still be blue, right? I'm just sayin'. I didn't see a thread or sub-forum specifically for glitches, so I posted it here.
And in fact, a modder could create their very own adventure without having to write any code.
Actually, there is one thing I want to ask along these lines, since I wouldn't mind trying to build my own adventure, and that's this: will there be an alien-creator the way there is a ship-creator? I mean, part of the fun of playing SC is the interaction with the other alien races; if we're able
That's beyond awesome. :)
Wasn't there a quest indicator, though? Direction-pointer? I mean, blue planet or not, I think you can still get there...
That's pretty cool.
Thanks. :)
Are you a professional 3D designer?
Well, yes and no. I worked in games back in 2001, did a thing or two for indie flicks, but mostly just my own work, for fun and for my YouTube channel. So, if you wanna be technical, I suppose the answer is 'yes'...but I'm not sure how much YouTube counts as 'professio
That Earthling chick looks remarkably like a CGI character I've been developing: Same brown-hair-white-bangs thing and all... Anyway, can't wait for this game. Like I've been saying, it looks like it was made by people who loved Star Control 2, and that's exactly what

I asked this in another thread, but I'm gonna ask it again: if there is a world-crafting tool in the game--and if the menus are any indication, there will be--what will happen with player-created worlds? Will they somehow be integrated into the game? Will we be given the option to create our own galaxy? Our own story/game, if we want? What use beyond creating a planet for the fun of it will this tool provide for us?
Okay, so...if I'm reading this right, there will be a multiverse...and I see a World Builder in the Crafting menu (even if we can't access it yet). Other companies might license SCO to make an adventure in their own universe. Okay. But if there is a World Builder available to the players, does that mean there will also be a Galaxy Creator? Will we have access to tools that will allow us to make our own</e
1 - Star Control 2. I mean, 1 was great when it was new, but it was kind of primitive, and difficult to play after 2 came out. And 3 was garbage. Any Star Control game built to feel like a sequel to 2 will already be on the right track. And so far, that describes this one; everything I've seen makes me think it was built by fans of SC2. 2 - If what we're hearing in fleet battles is any indication, you guys already have the music down; what we've seen of the game so far <e
Well, I have a lot of experience; I've worked in games before, and I do CGI, so...
I kinda...don't. I don't much care for 'em, to be honest. And thanks. :)
I have tried every level of difficulty, and I find it very difficult to lose. I suppose it's possible that I've just built some truly amazing ships, but...I don't think so.
No harm done.
