I was playing a game where I developed Gravity Accellorators (a Trade Good) and then many turns later, another empire developed Gravity Accellorators. I believe this is a bug (My understanding is that Trade Goods are only allowed to be built once in the Galaxy) - Matt Lepinski :-> ~SDC~

Two questions: 1) What determines the manufacturing capacity of a planet? (Obviously things like Manufacturing Center and Power Plant add a percentage to manufacturing capacity, but what determines the base capacity? Population? Planet Quality? Something else?) 2) Is there any way to see the manufacturing capacity of a planet? (I know that if I set spending to 100%, I can then go to a planet and figure out the capacity, but I was wondering if there was an easier way) Thanks
Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but does the Metaverse care if you mod the game to add a destroyer? - Matt Lepinski :-> ~SDC~
When a ship with Attack 5 attacks a ship with Defense 5, the attacker expects to do 35/36 = .972 points of damage each phase. When a ship with Attack 4 attacks a ship with Defense 4, the attacker expects to do 4/5 = .800 points of damage each phase. This means in expectation, the ship with Attack 5 and Defense 4 will do 12.15 points of damage in the time it takes the Attack 4 and Defense 5 ship to do 10 points of damage. (So it's no surprise that the Frigate expects to win). In
While we're talking about the differences between large and small galaxies ... My understanding is that the cost of researching a given technology is the same in a large galaxy as it is in a small galaxy. Does this mean that a technology victory is infeasible in a small galaxy? (Or does it mean that you just get technologies really fast late game in a large galaxy?) - Matt Lepinski :-> ~SDC~

I'm getting the same error message as Ancient Warrior. It might be a version problem. What's the latest version of Stardock Central? Thanks, - Matt Lepinski :->
No, I think this is foundamentally different than MOO2. In MOO2, the problem in the late game was that if I had just researched "Core Waste Dumps" and I wanted all of my industrial planets to build Core Waste Dumps, I would have to go to each planet individually and change that planet's build queue. The point of governors in GalCiv is that you can have one build queue (governor) for a large number of worlds. That way if you research a new social project, you cause it to be built in a la
So I'm planning to buy GalCiv (Of course I am, why else would be lurking on this forum) and while I was browsing the internet looking for GalCiv info, I stumbled across a demo for The Corporate Machine. Well, the Corporate Machine is a cool game and I'm considering purchasing it. I noticed that one of my options was to purchase a year's subscription to "Drengin.net". (Which seems to also include GalCiv) My understanding is that if I buy Drengin.net, then I'll be able to download the Co
